what's great in this genre? radiohead got me into music of
course, with ok computer, and i love super furry animals
(idm heads should hear some things come from nothing). i'm
going to pick up that new (bit old now, i guess) flaming
lips. outside of radiohead, this is music that can make me
smile. so what else is good?

also buy the (live instrument) NERD album if you haven't
already.. some stores (namely best buy) still sell it for $6
(it's a full album)

MBV and slowdive veer pretty far away from pop, not that
those aren't amazing bands.. from what i've heard of YLT
they don't seem to pass too easily for pop either (and of
course i'm not talking about mainstream, just pop style)

geogaddi sounds very much influenced by loveless. check dawn
chorus.

i think it's track four, on loveless: music for vacuum
cleaners.

tribute to them on their last album

If it may rock a bit, surely check out Sonic youth,Husker
du, Sugar, Pixies. And for the less rocking moments maybe
Joy division. There are also a lot of singer/songwriters out
there worth checking out.

yeah, recently I've been heavily into rock type music... I
still love electronic music, but sometimes it depresses me
like you said... but I go in phases with music anyways...
now it's a rock phase...

lounge music, and electro pop. AWESOME springtime music.
