I've got some ringing going on, I also lost hearing in my
ear, turned out it was a wax build up deep inside. I got one
of those water squirter things and voila.

This is something I learnt from another messageboard:
A messageboard is not the right place to solve health
problems.
I agree..

So?
How was the party?

thanks all,
i was pretty shocked-i thought i'll wake up and my hearing
will be back...

the party was pretty awesome-i dont like amon tobin too
much-but he's cool live

first he started with his pretty boring stuff (some
permutation and out from out where stuff, then he played
some d'n'b then a track by sqarepusher and after that
totally awesome mixture of d'n'b and electronica-this was
really rockin' stuff, just what i was looking for...
after him some other dj's played some really fucked up d'n'b
with live mc-fast as hell

(and hehe, yeah its not the place to solve my health
problems, its more like to get the first impression-just not
to panic :) )

He did exactly the same set in Brussels last week!

hehe, probably-he's really not that diversed-people wanted
more at the end so he played some weird beats (for like an
half of hour) , is this standard as well-because it seemed
like he didnt know what to do when people asked for more :),
well if he's going to do djing more often im sure he'll be
great and play diversed sets, as he's a really good dj imo.

There is no cure for tinnitus (ringing in the ears), so
there's no use in blowing money on a doctor.

If you've had it for more than a year, you'll most likely
have it for the rest of your life. Whether it increases in
volume or not, is unpredictable. It's best just to take care
of yourself and try not to stress out over it.

how does one get tinnitus?
loud music?

offline Clic on 2003-03-09 11:18 [#00587393]

That is the main cause, just loud sounds in general. Like if
you work in a factory or something, any constant loud
sound(s) could do it over time. Headphones on a really loud
volume can do ti as well.

There's other ways too, like a bad head or neck injury.
There temporary forms of tinnitus though, like through sinus
troubles or in your case, a loud party or concert. They
usually go away with time.

thanks!

(i'll have to take better care-not much good for a music fan
with hearing problem)

Oh, and this weird. Sometimes a plug of wax in the ear can
cause reverberations in the inner ear and that will make it
ring. You can get the wax removed though, and that should
clear it up.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-03-09 11:25 [#00587400]

hmm, i guess i should really see a doctor about this
btw, im having this trouble with my ear that was exposed to
the speaker...

Yeah, wouldn't hurt. Just go and have a talk with him/her
and they'll probably arrange for a hearing test or
something, so they can how you're doing.
