finally got round to starting a music technology course,
down the road from where i live. has anyone else done any of
this kinda thing, and is it worth it, or is it better to
teach yourselves???

any mates who did a course like that got the best out of it
by stealing as much software, borrowing as much hardware as
possible and generally absorbing all you can, breaking the
rules, trying shit out..... Hey it can´t hurt if you´re
into making music... just keep at your own shit too ... plus
you´re bound to meet at least one decent new mate

Yes, stealing equipment/software seems a common motivation
to go on them :)

A guy from the incredible string band runs the one at my
uni. I might call by the dept. and see what they have.

My roomate took electroacoustic music and he's taking audio
production now. I'm in video production. He's been
learnign how to program synthesizers and make his own, which
is pretty cool. Now he's learning pro tools and the
multitrack console.
