i've already mentioned this in my other post but some of you may not have read it, does anyone know of any artists that create similar music to what was in the Silent Hill 2 game?
for those of you who haven't played it, much of the music is dark, industrial, disturbing and with slight melody.
I really love this kind of music but i dont know many who create it... Coil is the only one i can think of at the mo.
any recomendations?

maybe you can also try Nurse With Wound, which is a bit similar to Coil... though different enough, and needing time to get into.

and Merzbow's 'Music For Bondage Performance', volume 1. (among others.)
that one by Merzbow isn't noisy as the later works he made, it is more like Coil's 'How To Destroy Angels'.

Old Swans material sounds somewhat similar to the soundtrack of the first Silent Hill.
As for the second game, I can think of different tracks by various artists that wouldn't sound out of place in the SH2 soundtrack, but can't really think of any one particular person(s).

skinny puppy, definitely, and also some of the side projects.. the early works of Download are pretty intense and some feature guests like Genesis P-Orridge (throbbing gristle, psychick tv), bill leeb (everything :-P) and ken "hiwatt" marshall (also everything)
i highly recommend their albums "Eyes of Stanley Pain" and "Furnace".. their later stuff ("III" and "Effector") is much less "industrial," but there is some brilliant ambient work on both albums with really intricate and super-efx'd beats..
(ps: anus_presley- i like your avatar... tom waits rawks)
