I would start with Pretty Hate Machine....fantastic album

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-03-02 09:15 [#00576766]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

which one is more "electronic"? :)

offline Netlon Sentinel from eDe (Netherlands, The) on 2003-03-02 09:18 [#00576769]
Points: 4736 Status: Lurker

i don't know pretty hate machine but downward spiral isn't
very electronic except for the occasional interesting sound
and that awesome ambient track. the fragile isn't
electronic-ish either...

offline Netlon Sentinel from eDe (Netherlands, The) on 2003-03-02 09:22 [#00576771]
Points: 4736 Status: Lurker

if you're looking for electronica you might as well get
further down the spiral (or something)

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-03-02 09:24 [#00576772]

ha! if there's one radiofriendly ae track, it's gotta be
arch carrier! good choice (and one of my all time faves)

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-03-02 09:42 [#00576788]

whats all this electronic music playing now?
that first (weird one) were autechre?

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2003-03-02 09:46 [#00576793]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

the rock/electronica hybrid was "the dance" by the music
autechre "arch carrier"
jega "inertia" (the slower track)
telefon tel aviv "8 track project cut"
and now, the irresistable force "nepalese bliss (jimpster
remix)"

I'm so sorry LeCoeur but I didn't understand you... (the
quality is not THAT good...)
What was the song right before you started talking?
It turned a big smile on my face!

I think I missed last week but I'm more impressed with
today's show - the music you have playing in the background
while you're introducing tracks makes it far better. Having
two people spruces things up a little too. You're still
picking some bizarre shit inbetween the IDM tho, I often
think I've missed your show and I'm listening to some south
american pirate broadcast or something. :)

or radio taliban with that arabic sounding track ;)

anywhom, nice show. made me want to redownload geometry and
múm. gracias

i do agree with supreme that the talking in between tracks
was a bit inaudible at times

playlist online

yea, it's better when i remember to play music while
i/she/we talk(s). i don't really think of my show as an
"idm" show with "other stuff" inbetween. if anything, it's
more of an "other stuff" show with the occasional idm (which
is probably too much right now). nigel, if you REALLY wanted
to catch the show you'd write yourself a reminder or set
some kind of alarm.

not to get preachy, but netlon... buy the jega album. i got
it for less than $11.

the "radio taliban" track is prolly my fave (if not the neil
young song), much better than any of the idm i played :)

supreme... check the playlist. the song is by plone!
