DESPERATE HELP NEEDED

First off, I need someone with Win98, and probably the CD.

What I'm trying to do is set up a Direct Cable Connection,
but I don't have the components installed, and I don't have
a working CD-drive. I tried the Microsoft site, but so far
I've had no luck tracking down the required components -
what I need is for someone to get the components and put
them up so I can download them and install them. PLEASE HELP
- YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE! :|

The reason I need it, is to transfer the wav files of my
2eps to my sister-in-law's laptop--otherwise I'm going to
have to use slsk to transfer them as 192kps mp3s, which I
don't want to do

I've got PCAnywhere 8. It'll do a direct cable connection
and more. I find it's much easier than mucking about with
Microsoft's crap. 9 megs. Want it?

i wont be much of a help but if you really have to install
windows components it won't work unless you have a real
expert to tell you where to copy which files and how to
change the registry.

be careful with other windows files, if the versions do not
match exactly you will screw up your comp. i once had
a modem driver installed from another cd (which was the same
edition but a differen verison ov win98) and it ended with
deleting the windows directory cause the reinstallation
routines wouldn't replace the wrong ones.
for these problems you should be under linux, sorry ;)

Ooooh ya just reminded me, I got one like that too, it's
called FX. You have to boot into dos to use it properly as
it doesn't support long file names and Windows confuses it,
but it works great.

OK I've installed it Jaroen, and like you said, it's in
Dutch - so, any chance of leading me through it, since my
Dutch is limited to counting to 10 @:)
