its a painting of a bunch of stair cases but you can't tell
if the stairs are going up or down. does anybody know who
painted this or what its name is?

I've got a nice escher print (one of the lesser known ones-
two different elevations fusing) on my bedroom wall.

If you like this type of art, check out the game Marble
Madness. The artwork was heavily influenced by Escher.

Marble Madness?.. isn't it the Leonardo inspired one? with
ramps, cannons etc?

Nah, the guy who made it (now makes the crash bandicoot and
Jaxter and Dax games) says it was Escher that influenced
him. There were lots of ramps in it though.

Also try the library,...here in holland there are a lot of
books from escher with all his artwork(but maybe that is
because he is dutch) you even can get some "cut and paste"
pictures to build your own impossible figures, and the are
very freaky imo

Try watching "labyrinth" it has an escher influenced scene.
imagine a glittery david bowie (whos in the movie!) walking
up and down those impossible stairs while singing to a girl!

no it should be "==" not "=" ;)

Eh I just wanted to say my painting preference, and found
funny that I could so easily associate them with the major 4
electronic acts today.
