okay so it started with qrter remixing my
track.."limping in the ballroom"
remixing is is an understatement..he ripped the puny spine
out of that track and replaced with a shard spewing
exo-skeleton...you can hear the results here..
kalm

I responded without hesitation and his kalm is reremixed now
into..

Herbal Serenity Kava Kava Komplex

lend an year or three..(seeing that it's now three tracks)
and let us know what you thunk...

btw: qrter..Red is saying thanks for doing that remix and
keeping me(flea) occupied so that she can relax and enjoy
her stiff drink:p

Well i'd really like to say you two guys bring out the best
in each other... but so far i thought both kalm and herbal
serenity kava kava komplex were two of your weaker tracks
:-/ Maybe í'm missing the point or not listening to them
enough times... but they just don't do much for me i'm
afraid.

hm..
Herbal Serenity is my remix of qrters Kalm which was
originally a remix of my track "limping in the
ballroom"..they might make a bit more sense if they were
heard in this order

limping in the ballroom
kalm
Herbal Serenity Kava Kava Komplex..

but anyhow thanks for trying em surrounded:)..I enjoyed
making Herbal Serenity because I got to make longer
stretches of droning ambient scapes then I usually make:)
expanding my pallette so to speak:)

"they might make a bit more sense if they were heard in
this order
"

maybe i'll try that :-) I heard limping in the ballroom a
couple weeks ago, kalm yesterday and hskkk only today... so
i guess i can't really have heard the evolution throughout
the remixes yet.

like being trapped on a desert world in a galaxy far
away--only this sand-dune littered landscape is enclosed in
non-reflective glass, and currently the war rages on between
the Furry Ones and the Droids. And all the while, the
motorised walkway transports us all slowly, and uncertainly
to our doom :-/

thumbs up

limping in the ballroom:
great sounds!! i really like how those high sounds evolve
rhytmically. the track doesn't really evolve much though,
which makes it a bit boring. overall: well done

kalm: ahhh, another soundfest by qrter:) really like how
that little loop is reappearing again, well done, you got me
by suprise.
good sounds, almost as if i'm in a sort of surreal
industrial environment.
HOWEVER, i often have the feeling that when you're working
with little loops, they should evolve. mostly you only
repeat them, which is fine by itself, but you do that too
often imo. it becomes too static. you know what i mean?

i'll listen to the third track later this day, gotta go.

nice one, flea.

god, you are quick. I worked myself into a sweat on "kalm"..
:)

nice how the sounds do remind me of my mix for some part,
but then are used and tweaked/distorted in a very flea-y
way.

I think I'll make a page for this project on www.mp3.au.com
(which is less irritating than www.mp3.com).

surrounded: oh dear. well, um, give it another try?
could just be you don't like them, which is a pity, but is
very well possible.. ;)

marlowe: you've won a t-shirt! on it in large pink
capitals "MARLOWE LOVES KNOBJECT AND QRTER!" :P
nice prose there, Paul.. :)

Bremzen: I guess I see what you mean, but I don't see
that as static, I guess, simply because elements go away and
sometimes come back, new elements are added etc. and I have
made small changes to individual loops - those are pretty
hard to hear, though..
