My wife just told me about her gay friend's boyfriend, who's parents are rich...he doesn't like this one particular girl ONLY because she is poor. He says he can't associate with a poor person because they can't go out to dinner or clubbing. And whenever the girl was about, he would rub his wealth into her face. She lives in a trailer and has a cheap car, and he said she is a waste of time. This made me feel nauseous, and if I ever see him I'm gonna ram a poster of Che Guevara down his throat so far that his gay boyfriend can suck it out his asshole. Which, coincidentally, is what he is. |

As I used to work as a labourer and my hometown is very poor I know a lot of poor people as aquaintences. I only know one or too really well and thats becasue they have similair interests to me. I tend not to go out (as in date) "poor people" (not that I'm "well off" by any means...) largely because I have little in common with them and I don't know many poor girls that well. I'm currently toying with the idea of dating the daughter of the Bursar of one of the Cambridge Colleges... In that case the opposite is true. I'd feel embarassed about meeting her parents etc. as I'm not as wealthy as them and she'd always be buying dinner etc. My last girlfriend's family were a lot wealthier than mine and were all descended from aristocrats (some still were). Fortunately they were of the daffy liberal variety and hence easy to get along with. Damn, I really liked her family they were always so nice. |

Those are the worst- I could understand if people had worked hard them being a little vulgar with the money they throw around, but people who make a point of displaying their wealth when it's all inhereted are pathetic really. It's on par with being proud of having blue eyes. It something you were born with- you didn't earn it... |

Fucking money... watching pro athletes make more per game than a lot of people make in a year... I have been on 2 holidays abrroad in my life because it means cut backs and saving along time to pay forr it. BUT i live in a nice strreet and have a goodish standarrd carr we arre not poorr we arre worrking class, i live well, we have a TV in each rroom almost, we have a VCR in each rroom almost, but these living conditions come at a cost. we keep carrs untill they won't rrun, we don't go on holiday and so. I base my judgments on how a perrson is. If a poorr perrson is rrough, they can fuck off, if a rrich perrson is rrough they too can fuck off. But i would soonerr live with, spend time with a poorr perrson and neverr have to feel ashamed, too feel on an even parr with them, than be worried i dident meet the standarrds of a rrich girrls family. |

For the record I agree with you there is nothing more unappetising that hearing someone being really arrogant and supercilious. The simple fact is its pretty unsophisticated and crude to act that way.
