Do you know Acid?

I got the Humanoid Sessions '84 - '88 last night and it's
fucking impressive. As Mike P said it's fresher then a lot
of the music kicking around now. It contains full versions
of a lot of the tracks from 'Eurotechno' and loads more. The
first track was in one of the AFX DJ sets I have a bootleg
of from 2002. Humanoid! Intruder! *lazer blasts* It's
fucking great. You all need to get this. :> Track 17 sounds
like Squarepusher a bit and Track 9 'Motion Static' was on
the Rephlex Radio set. Check it out now. It will go great
with you Universal Indicator mix CD. :>

There is kind of an oldschool hype on Rephlex right now. I
love it. Do you know Scan X ? He has some back breaking
tracks like Earthquake.

I wouldn't call it hype, It's not the old-school bandwagon
people seem to be jumping on. This is important music for
Rephlex followers, I mean this album just fits so well with
Rephlex. Like that track on Rephlex Radio, I have no idea it
was from 1988, I don't even think I had my ZX Spectrum then!
}:>

I don't have any Scan X stuff but I will check it out of you
recommend dude. :>

Humanoid is as acid as it gets, It sounds so much more real
too like it has more depth which I presume is a refection of
the production technique used. I mean back then it wasn't
all clicky clicky computer screen. Everyone needs this
release! I mean it. :>

I'm going to York this weekend to meet up with a load of
people. This is gonna be my soundtrack. Last time I went
down there I was listening to some fucked up ultra fast
electronic grindcore and by the time I got to York I was so
fucked up hyper and pent up I could have bit thru the train
door. I like music, yes. :>

I'm getting a good collection of Acid now. I have 'Techno
Classics' from Rising High, I've had that on CD for years
but got the vinyl last year. I have all 5 UI vinyls and now
this plus more. I can't get enough of it all. :>

Gotta check Scan X next. ^^

In your opinion maybe. To me it's fantastic. *shrugs* So
what did you think of the Humanoid Sessions? Or have you not
listened to it?

i just think they sound outdated and cheesey - to me - the
only electronic i can take seriously is stuff i know ill
like in 5, 10, whatever years (autechre, accelera deck, some
morr music stuff) - the acidy stuff seems like an annoying
phase - its not hard its just cheesey

sigh

Two people at work asked me about the Humanoid CD. They
where very interested. ^^ This is one of the coolest CDs
Rephlex have put out in a while IMO tho it's all good. :>

I like the 'reach around' method myself. But Humanoid is
more then acid, It's like a Braindance comp but a few years
before Rephlex where established. Nothing like AE and such
tho. }:>

Yep, One of the guys from FSOL, Brian Dougans. I wasn't down
with all that back then tho unfortunately. :/ I was too
young to know music went further then the charts.
