I just had lunch with the mater, and we got to discussing
Iraq and Israel. It raised some interesting questions, which
I hope we can discuss. The questions are these:

01) Is Saddam alone in the Middle East?
02) Was Israel part of Jordan before 1948? If so, what claim
do The Palestines have on Israel, why the conflict there?
03) Is PM Tony Blair actually doing a good thing? If he left
Bush to be isolated, would these mean Bush would adopt a rat
mentality and say "fuck em all" and thereby start bombing
Iraq?

I am not making any judgements with these questions--I'm
just not well-informed enough to know the answers right now,
and I know there are a lot of well-informed people here who
can help clarify these points.

T'anks.

01)dunno whut you mean by that..
02)The Palestinians have lived there for many
generations...Israel was..um..implanted there by the
Zionists who bought farmlands and then startedimporting
Jewish settlers from Europe..so Plaestinians have their
rights of being originated from there...but right now the
issue is not the existence of Israel but their continous
xpansionism and the illegal occupation of Palestenian
territories where they continue to push out the Palestinians
and implant violent gun totting settlers surrounded by
barbed wire fences..
03)No. Blair is going out of his way to give implausible
moral justifications for Bush adminstrations well..insanity.

Especialy Iran, they've heightened security at their eastern
oil field. They think that Sadam's army might set fire to
the fields again if attacked. Oil maked up 85% of their
economy. They cant risk shit like that. Oh well, I raq den I
ran.

1- no there are other countries and other rulers

2-in the 1800's and 1900's england and france took over the
middle east and divided it into smaller countries
creating iraq, jordan, syria, lebanon...then after wwi the
jews were brought from europe to what is known now as
isreal/palestine
too many battles ended in making it isreal( palestiniens
minority and isrealies live there) and the west
bank(palestiniens majority, settlers minority)

3) I'm not sure Bush could go alone. The US' encouragement
of the expansion of NATO further east has been part of a
policy whereby they can rely on Europena states to do their
bidding. Client states are very important to the US'
strategic interests and their policy.

I think what is really interesting at the moment is that we
are seeing splits in the ruling class. I have no allusions
regarding France and Germany's block of action; their elites
have their own interests (including oil) and russia is of
course pursuing a bloody war against the Chechens.

Marx described the ruling class and states as 'warring
brother's. They will fight over the spoils but when it comes
to it they will unite to keep their respective populations
down.

Cracks in the ruling class and an anti-war,
anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist movement make for exciting
times.
