anyone got that album? the one with 'freeman hardy & willis
acid' on it...what did you think?

Essential. :)

not so essential. freeman hardy & willis acid doesn't live
up to what the collaboration promises. it is basically a
simple squarepusher tune with some aphex tweakery towards
the end.

the boc, plaid, ae tracks aren't anything special either.
the rest of the tracks are also fairly crappy. maybe I just
don't like compilations.

worst track contributed by mira calix.

Mixed opinions then. :)

I guess so.

I enjoy the afx/sp track, but don't think it is as good as
it could have been. As for the others, I think they are just
passable, not essential.

what does BUMPing mean?

the boc track isn't very good, which had a TERRIBLE
consequence!... i didn't give boc a second chance until 2001
when i heard mhtrtc... 3 years wasted :(

the red snapper track is good
the mark bell track is good

not really, although i will say that 'Orange Remeda' is one
of the best Boards of Canada songs next to 'XYZ'..oh and
that WAP100 IS essential.

I love this compilation. It was my first contact with warp
rec. I actually love ervery tune on it but Jimi Tenor,
Broadcast & Plone made some real classics for this.
It essential, no doubt.

amazon doesn't have it for sale (if they did, it'd be an
import only), nor even a used copy (not that i'd buy it used
since the artists don't get any money that way).

maybe later i'll email warp and see if they'll send me it
for free for giving their little label like 500 spins on my
radio show in the last couple years.

i give it a 7/10. it's good, but not spectacular imo.
though i love the aphex-squarepusher track (most dont, dont
know why...).

ae track is good.
red snapper is excellent.
