who did the art? I find it quite soothing and mysterious.

It looks kinda 90s if you ask me, like the type of abstract
Photoshop art that shows up a lot on sites like deviantart.
Something fresher would be nice...

That was my first thought too.

My interpretation of it, and I accept that it's probably a
bollocks one at that is that the cover relates to LP5 and
Confield and how they both influence this album.

The grey to the left represents the artless cover of LP5.
The central mechanical figure is Confield. 'Confield' is
drawing the life out of 'LP5', hence it fading and creating
what we see on the right of the artwork, a new creation
borne of both, but which we can't yet see in it's entirety.

Or something :P

not cool, just places that are cutting edge - not the
recycled, rehashed goop that autechre are making now

hey, not bad! better than what i expected :)

but i would have put text on that... (usually i think text
spoils this kind of graphics but on this one i think it
would have fit)

Psytech > your avatar is irritating! weee!! ^^;

Heh, it's like my habit of imagining subtext for their
music, like the golden age of the robot civilization on LP5.

So what's cutting edge then? I'm not being sarcastic or
confrontational, I'm just curious what you think is the shit
these days.

(If you're being sarcastic then that's cool too)

'rchrddvdjms' is a certain disgruntled 'artist'
with an axe to grind. ;-)

hahaha so when's the last time ANY of us made something that
looked that good? as far as "cutting-edge" goes, it's just
another fashion statement. focus too much on that, you'll
miss the simple beauty in understatement.

I was kind of hoping for a straight forward cover. Sean
playing an acoustic guitar while Rob is fiddling with a
tambourine, with the words ''AUTECHRE- DRAFT 7.30'' written
in bubble letters.

hahahahahaha thats the cover for their NEXT album, ophecks!

i promise ;)

offline uzim on 2003-02-16 14:22 [#00557423]

i was awaiting something like just a plain cover with a
slightly weird color, maybe "autechre" written in a corner,
that's all...

Ophecks: you will Photoshop that cover. Sean will be wearing
a Buffalo Bill suede jacket with the tassels and fringes.

I request it.

Core: w00t! Anyone we know?

i don't understand the "not cottung edge" graphics. what if
it were pencil sketch? is paint out now cause it's not
cutting edge? the art is very nice imo.

hopefully since i disagree about the image i'll disagree
about the sound too. i hope it makes me get loopy o_0

and just like every other autechre cover, i think it
PERFECTLY reflects the music it contains! once again, a
masterpiece! hopefully this album will have the same effect
over the nay-sayers that confield did... an instant classic
in my mind.

that I'm holding my breath or anything.

i think the cover perfectly illustrates where they are right
now.
like another poster said with the confield coming out of lp5
or whatever.

that clicks with me just perfectly.
as with autechre being 'where it's at', please point me to
another artist who makes this kind of music, and who has
done it before ae did it.
say upland and you die. (although uploand rules ;)
anyway, i think it is the shit, you can't really hear all
the sounds clear enough.
i think it's gonna sound very different on cd, and different
from confield.

but that's just mho

i'm not worries i guess, cause i'm not concerned whether or
not draft will put me in another dimension. at the very
least it will be fun. it might be far more.
