I had to deal with something like this first hand about 10 years ago. While waiting for a bus, I was jumped in broad daylight and beaten until I released a bag containing pair of new shoes I had just bought about an hour earlier. There were people around and nobody did anything, even after crooks left. They wouldn't even look at me, much less ask if I was all right. It's fucked up that people don't care, I but I guess that's life.
