Squarepusher's manfesto

Perhaps it's because it's so late, but I really don't get
Squarepusher's mandesto...I just read it today.

Perhaps I'm thick, but it seems like he's rambling on about
nothing and using lots of big words willy-nilly and doesn't
really know what he's on about.

Could someone please explain it to this poor, stoned, tired,
soul? :D

pretentious.. OH GOD I hope its a joke..

Jeez, I'd think that xltronic members would get it more than
anyone else.

Here's the rundown:

In order for Tom to be the best musician he can be, he must
learn and master every single style of music out there
(excluding classical i think, but i could be wrong). Only
until he has incorporated every music genre can his true
mastering of music unfold in a new and original style of
music of his choosing.

any questions?

:)

If you are able to comprehend the 'big words' that he uses,
one should arrive at a similar conclusion.

I think he's doing that on purpose to A: look intelligent

B: scare away the ignorant who stumbled upon his music by
accident.

other than that, i kinda enjoyed the manifesto.

I mean theyre not that foreign really, It just seems
redundant to use them in the context. That was probably a
deterent like you said. Im just too fucking lazy to read
that shit.

Exactly, but his music is the same way. Very detailed, if
you dont have the attention span for it, then you wont get
the big picture.imo

what crap.

if he wants to convey something, he should try to
communicate. you do not achieve communication by using 'big
words' etc.

it just looks pretentious and very badly written now.
