Martin L Gore of Depeche Mode (the talented one) is doing
another cover versions lp - counterfeit 2.

includes tracks by lou reed, brian eno, iggy pop, nick cave,
john lennon, & david essex.

looking forward to hearing this, should be miles better than
erasure's attempt to cash in on other peoples songs.
counterfeit, martin l gore's previous covers ep around 1990
was excellent.

also dave gahan (lead singer of depeche mode) also has a
solo album out soon produced by ken thomas (sigur ros's
producer). mmmm, interesting.

depeche mode have been consistantly good throughout the 80s
and 90s, influencing a lot of electronic artists with their
lush melodies and simple yet effective programming.

from what i've heard the album is meant to be good and as
i've said the clips i've heard were very promising, why is
it so unbelievable that he came make and write good music?

He's been in an excelent band for something like 20 years, I
doubt he'd suddenly start making shit music.

my feeling was always that Dave Gahan wrote all the
lyrics... from what I've seen and heard in the past it's
always seemed that way... of course, I only bought my first
cd of theirs the other day, so I now I realize that's not
true...

I heard one of Martin Gore's solo tracks a while ago, it
wasn't too bad... not Mode-level though. It was a bit too...
produced and sterile or something.

Hey! I didn't know about Dave Gahan's solo project, but I
found his homepage and I've downloaded a song called 'song
for europe. I started a thread about counterfeit2 - last
week I believe... Look forward to hearing that album...
