i just saw this movie today and it's totally brilliant, and heartwrenching TRUE story of the aboriginal program that Australia had until recently (1970's) of separating what they call 'half-caste' (half aborigine/half white) children from their mothers.
one of the lines in the movie said ' we want to effectly breed out the black colour of these children' it was a horrifying program, and what it's done to a whole 'lost' generation is sickening.
the story itself tho, is as positive as it can be, and the music (by peter gabriel) is absolutely brilliant, the man just doesn't miss a step IMO.
it's a must see for peepz who like out of the ordinary movies, i hope it wins for best foreign film, that will bring wider release.

Yeah the debate has been raging for a few years that the Prime Minister should say sorry to the aboriginal people for past in justices. But he wont because he thinks the goverment will open up for compensation claims if they admit guilt.

damn i see your point! i guess if you don't admit a problem existed, then you can pretend it didn't REALLY happen.

John Howard is an idiot and I don't agree with 99% of the stuff he says or does. All the state leaders made formal appologies to the aboriginal people but John Howard stands firm about not appologising.
Even with this war on Iraq bollocks. The majority of Australians don't agree with his stance of sending Australian troups to fight in Iraq but he insists that they be sent.
