and my god - although i have been away from the 'scene' for almost a year soon i noticed NOTHING had progressed there. it was a record release party for a finnish psysound group. only the bouncers of the place it was held in had gotten more assholy. i expected it to be a happy 'go-back' party but noooo. the start of the night i was sitting behind the decks with a friend of mine who was djing in the chillout. nobody was really listening to her set :( the band we went to see were quite gloomy and didnt play too well this time since they had been harrassed by the staff for smoking joint on the backstage. they had to leave immediatly after their show and probably are not allowed to play there again. seeing all these people i have known throughout the years i have gone the electronic music events here i noticed only about 1/5 of my former friends said hello. about 1/2 of the people saying hello came talking to me. there were just drunken/fucked up hippies in there. me and this friend of mine were so out of place for not looking as hippie as the other people. so, officially, i declare my parting of the finnish scene. i'm only going if im artisting. its all dead mates. |

I'm planning on going to Northern Ireland soon, I have a friend over there I wish to see and he has directed me to some clubs including a nice looking goth place too. NI is supposed to be alright if you get into the underground scene.. over ground - its hell! Hackney WAS cool... was there for Warp party 2001 with an italian freind and we stayed awake for 36 hours and met some cool londoners..... but the crowd didn´t dance their tits off like they do here..... |
