wow
much respect indeed! How brave :-)

I wonder how Bush is going to react to this? When you think
about it, it would be ridiculous if this really made a
difference for him (it'd be like saying western people are
more important than the people from iraq)... but still i
think he's not going to like it.

He'd have to atleast have soldiers drag awayt those human
shields before he could drop bombs

hm i don't think bush will give a damn if you think about
the fact that he's sending his own countrymen to die there

the story on TV today showed another much older Maori lady
joining in and going off to Baghdad...complete with a Moko(a
traditional tatoo) on her chin....
it's great to see..a sense of justice and human dignity
transcending age and race:)

i was listening to a guy that joined
he said they will only protect civilists
so bush can still bomb military targets...

in the new war my dear..American casualties are minimum to
none..plenty of local rebels followed by allied canon fodder
before a hair on a marine is singed..

as i understand it, he will mostly be using longdistance
bombs and radiographic controlled airplanes... ofcourse it
is a war, the american soldiers are at risk. But for
them it's probably a relatively risk-free war?

the saddest thing is that in the process of finding allies
bush is tearing europe apart as well... but that's kinda off
topic :)

You just know Bush really wants to go to war... the
entire world is hoping those weapon-inspectors will find
nothing, but when i look at president bush... you can just
see it in his eyes that he's hoping they'll find some
mass-destruction weapons somewhere.

I think the evidence consists of things such as
satelite-photographs of trucks with suspiciously large
ventilation-holes in them. Which means they could be
carrying chemical weapons.

Last thing i heard, they still haven't actually got even one
picture that actually shows a missile or a bomb.

all of the evidence they will ever need can be created now
at the drop of the had..it will either be off the HardDrives
seized off AlQaeda in Afghanistan or from interrogation in
Camp Xray..

it's a gift that will keep on giving and giving...

Bush will just see such people as the enemy.

In any event, he can't be seen to not proceed because, as
surrounded pointed out, he'd be criticised for acting as if
westerners were more important.

well people that oppose nato here are talking something
about this euro defence thing, but our politicians dont
really care about that
they really want us to join nato, and so far they didnt make
any serious point in what are nato advantages
its not looking good for us joining tho
i'd like to see that happen and to see how our governament
will react, since we are already invited to join :)

...and UN Council Members too. Over the last few days the US
has agreed to blacklist three rebel Chechen groups, a
long-standing request from Russia; approved $4.1m (£2.48m)
for the resettlement of returnees to Angola; and approved an
extra $2.1m for Liberian refugees hosted by Guinea, another
council member.

yeah, could be
but we have hungary on our east border and they're already
in nato
but as i understand we will have to buy weapons from nato
and also pay some sort of membership
money could be another answer :)

america bombs the shit out of Japan at the end of WW2...
killing thousannds of civilians (the japs did the same in
china) Japan now a major world player.

Allies bomb the shit out of Germany end of WW2 killing
thousands of civilians... germany economically strong now?

Same for Iraq in a few years? Are Amerca seeing it in this
global war context? interesting thought.
(i do believe in diplomacy before dombs though AND japan and
germany were ACTIVELY destroying their neighbours at the
time too)

"were ACTIVELY destroying their neighbours"

That's the whole point... when a country is actively doing
bad things... THEN a war is justified (...maybee).

But this whole concept of a "preventive war" is just
ridiculous.

oh okay :-) I was a bit confused by your posts about the
economical situations in germany and japan... like you meant
bombings would be a good thing for iraq.

Still... i fear these human shields will not have much
effect :-/ I would be very surprised if there wasn't
going to be a war in a few weeks time.

Altough i strongly disagree with jedi chris, and absolutely
do not find these people daft or silly... i do think he will
be right. Bush won't hesitate to drop bombs on those human
shields. Afterwards the media will portray them as traitors.

hmm,
The yanks had already firebombed tokyo for months before the
nuke and STILL the japs kept battling, invading, torturing.
''Drop one oustide of tokyo and show them'??..... none of
the experts belived that would be enough to convince the
japanese military who by this stage were on the verge of
staging a coup against their own governemnet who wanted to
end the war long before. Put it this way, the japs had 3
days after nuke 1 to surender and didn't... hense nuke 2 and
then they surrendered Don't get me wrong.. i'm really into
al things japanese but the guys were out of touch with
reality at that stage..... nuking saved a mass invasion of
the island by thousands of allies and the jap army had
theior civilians so wound up and anti-allies that millions
would have fought with bear hands to save their homel;and
from invasion.. and died. its all real sad no matter what
way you look at it. Nuke are shit but do balance things
swiftly in one go.
