I wish I knew more about this whole situation, particularly the probability that I will be forced to go to war (drafted). I've thought that if I ever was forced to do kill fellow humans for someone else's motives, the best strategy on my part (a single pathetic individual) would be to shoot as many generals or whoever is in charge and forcing me as I can before myself. If every individual used this strategy, the power of the individuals would be much greater than the minority who are in control with the power. Course they were saying that due to the nature of this "war" a draft isn't necessary, but politicians have certainly been known for lying.

that's the problem tho.. this whole "war".. or skirmish.. is predicated upon and encourages the perpetuation of America's dependency on oil.. we don't NEED it tho!.. there are much more efficent materials...
one of the reasons marijuana gets such a bad rap is that the hypothetical hemp industry would, without question, put the following industries out of business:
-oil (believe it or not) -cotton (who initially propagandized and lobbied against "marihuana" in 1916, making it illegal)
-it might make a dent in the alcohol industry -tobacco ;).. non-toxic non-carcinogenic.. better among others... all of these industries lobby w/in our govt. and shut it down so their business can continue to thrive... that's also why we have those fucking antidrug commercials that are just rediculous

There won't be a draft- one of the joys of nuclear warfare is that that many people are no longer needed for a groundforce.
If there was ever a draft I would refuse point blank, even if I would be shot as a coward/traitor as a result.

people who think that we don't need oil need to rethink the situation
where the fuck do you think that gas for your car comes from? how would you like it if gas became 15 dollars a gallon?? what about airplanes..they don't fly on magic fairy dust.... it's not dick chany's oil....unless you've never driven in a car, train, plane or bus your entire life... you are just as guilty for causing this war!!
oh course the war is about oil!! almost every war fought in the history of time has been about natural resources

I agree that its about the oil and probably because Bush wants to accomplish what his father tried. IMO this whole weapon inspection thing was just a farce to get time to get their troups to irak and that is what pisses me off the most : those double moral values. North Coroa for example quit the anti nuclear treaty (dont know the english name) a month a ago and they announced they would research and build again. The USA does nothing.
Bombing Irak will not kill Saddam Hussein or stop the middle east countries building weapons against the USA. Those Terror oragnisations get more members when the people are poor cause they have nothing to loose.
I hope Bushdoesnt get President again :%

ok.. u used the word 'need.' we really don't NEED to use oil as excessively as we do. we don't NEED tacky christmas lawn displays, we dont need to keep the lights on when we're not in the room, we don't NEED to have gas-guzzling SUVs, we don't need to drive all the places we do. above all, we could use hydrogen to fuel our vehicles, we could even use hemp oil.. but we dont.. because the people that run things come from old money that comes from oil.. so, considering cheney is the president of the united states, (not vice-president, but president) and he and the people he's in cahoots with have the power to goto war to protect his investment..., so yes, people will end up dying for HIS oil.
terrorism is funded by our oil-dependency, we get it from exxon etc. and exxon etc. gets it from the people that are out to kill us because of our freedom and our frivilous excess...

Thing is, as with all resource conservation, home use is only about 10%- industry is the main culprit. People frantically conserving energy will do absolutely nothing- even if they 1/3 or 1/2 their petrol use (which I coldn't- I simply could not get to work and don't say take public transport- there isn't any)
unless industry does the same.
Still there are alternatives- those big american troop carrying planes that run on twin nuclear engines for example.
Still American cars are stupidly oversized and inefficient for fuel- average main car is 5L engine, second "round town" car is 3L. Compare that to europe where it's closer to main car 1.6L, second car 1.2L and you can see where a hell of a lot of fuel goes.
It makes you wonder why if cold fusion exists they haven't decided to release it now to avert this "war".

well, a republican's objective in a high political position is, basically, to keep the money on the side of people that already HAVE it- PLENTY of it (to understate). and that's what they're doing with this 'weapons of mass distraction' war. they're protecting a multi-billion dollar investment, and looking to turn more profits in the future. also, war is a great business for a gov't. it brings in billions and billions a year

all im saying is dont believe everything that you read, it would be foolish!
