500 years from now -- people will be machines-slaves to
giant mainframe computers

be glad that you are living in the early stages right now
where you still have freedom of expression across these vast
networks

Maybe we already are robots, but with instead of machanical
parts, we have soft alien style parts =o.

bah... people have been "opening their eyes" throughout
history. Whenever a technological breakthrough is achieved,
there are people claiming it'll be the end of the world.
When the steamtrain was invented, people were afraid it
would be dangerous to travel at such develish speeds. When
television was invented people were afraid it would numb
everybody and prevent them from ever going outside
anymore...

ehr...

hm... so maybe you do have a point ;-)

i wonder what would be worse - being a slave for a machine,
or being a slave for another human...

well.. ultimately we would've created the machine
ourselves..

that would make us look silly, wouldn't it..?

d'OH!

We'll probably just kill ourselves in a nuclear holocaust
before the robot-scenario ever gets a chance to happen ;-)

illusions could be thrown over peoples eyes to make them
think they were just living normal lives and actually be
operating a gigantic power cell inside a mainframe computer

progress destroying nature and making us sick, our
auto-censorship, our stupid rules...?
looks like this is going nowhere but to destroy us...

as long as computers must follow a logical protocol,
esentially "ON" and "OFF" commands, then we'll be fine.

Even artificial intelligence is little more. If we are able
to program true "Logic" though, without the binart ONES and
ZEROS idea, well...................... =)

Or maybe we will invent a planetary-destruction-device
called a "death star", and accidentally blow up the earth
with that! :-p

Yep, it seems that regardless of countless of warnings about
such a future, we still continue to head for just that
future. I already saw a doc where they were working on
EMOTIONS for robots! YAY, SMART MOVES IDIOTS!

humans act in a much more analog fashion.

Neurons are continuously variable. You can digitize the
analog signal of the brain, but you won't get the same
results, just like turning sound waves to mp3s.

anyway, a circuit can only perform logical operations as
seen by a human programmer, if a porgrammer were to error,
then the mistakes could lead to something twisted.

however, I simply don't see a binary style of logic ever
being able to result in true logical conscious.

I have been known to be wrong from time to time though....

they already have the weapons

imagine air traffic control mainframes telling all above
aircraft to crash into designated areas around the world,
and not allowing the pilots to take control of them

attachment so i could blast stuck up emo kids at my college
and then cut them up like cheese. And of course lasers beam
eyes, and built in jet pack attached to my spinal chord, and
a detachable penis
