..is announced on www.warprecords.com..

"skimskitta" is the name and it'll come out on march 3rd..
this maybe interesting..

also, her "insect sounds" thing sounds quite interesting:

""There are more insects on earth than any other living
species and having the opportunity to mould all the amazing
and beautiful noises they make, into something other, really
appealed to me. At the end of August, I received the sounds,
about 150 or so, of every insect imaginable; wasps, flies,
larvae hatching, butterflies beating, and with this
menagerie, I frantically got to work".

‘Nunu’ is a 13 minute extract of the composition, which
I got to play about a week later, sheltered under a rather
large dinosaur skeleton. I could have sworn it was nodding
its head.”

The limited edition T-Shirt and CD package, is, you’ll
agree, totally lush (see Mira Calix modelling the Fly T
above) and is available ONLY from warpmart."

couldn't find it in warpmart though..

I think her compositions aren't great, but her ear for
sounds is pretty extraordinary. her mixing is kind of crap,
though.

but those sounds.. mm..

I like it a lot more than the first one, though I liked the
first one too when loads of people didn't. I suppose I was
biased towards Mira Calix before the first album cos I
really liked the Ilanga 10". This new one is nice though.
Skimskitta is a good description of the beats, but there's
also melody going on in lots of tracks. It ain't entirely
made of bugs :)

the insect thing is coming as a package with a girls t-shirt
she designed together with a designer.

and so what if its been done before..? not by her. thats
what makes it interesting. insect sounds do seem to me to be
close to her own sound-design, so that should work quite
well.

I wish he would put his own dick in his mouth...then maybe
he can pacify himself while others give more intelligent
commentary...

Her work has never terribly interested me, but since she's
still at it, I'm willing to listen...
