i bought closer to the edit yesterday. now, i know this isn't his stuff per say, but a mix, but god what a waste of money. all twenty or so tracks sound the exact same, and i actually like old school techno. are there any good richie hawtin albums, or are they all shit?

The tracks i've heard by RH are very boring and sometimes very annoying. the same beat can go on for about 10 minutes with little or no variation at all...with a standard 303 pattern all the way through. i think they call it techno or something.

Winx - Don't Laugh (Richie Hawtin Remix) is the only track I have by him. :/

"Closer to the edit" is a chillout album. I luv it. Maybe you'd like "Decks and EFX & 909" better......its maybe a bit to housy for my tastes

The first Richie Hawtin album you must have is "Musik" under his Plastikman guise. If you don't like that, you might as well stay away from that type of musik.
