it's on soulseek. i've managed to download the first track
'future proof' by now and it's great! very electronic. i
think you'll like it.

i'm gonna wait till this comes out to hear this; i better
not get bitten on the ass by a late or non-existent U.S.
release date, a la the beth gibbons album.

i can HARDLY wait for this......since 'I for an I' came out
i've wanted more. but i hate spoiling some things i've
waited for for a long time.....so i'll be patient!

same here. i'll wait until the release. i didn't wait for
latest underworld album (it's not so good by way), but i
love MA "mezzanine" and "protection". this time i *have* to
resist.

definitely. how do you reckon, titsworth?

i think it's excellent and i'm glad beth decided to do
something different. i only wish the album would come out in
america. i also wish they'd release a new portishead album.

just that the record company and beth gibbons have both
confirmed that they're working on it as we speak. beth has a
tour to finish first, though.

i downloaded the track "antistar", i'm pretty sure this is a
fake one.. it sounds too boring and uninspiring to be MA.
filename: 01-Massive Attack_100th Window-antistar.mp3

offline 777 from Oulu (Finland) on 2002-12-20 13:48 [#00486978]

yep there's a three minute fake antistar clip around... the
real one has 3d and damon albarn (from blur) singing on it.

offline regital from Baltimore (United States) on 2002-12-20 15:12 [#00487073]

why is there only one clip... was a single leaked?

offline 777 from Oulu (Finland) on 2002-12-20 15:24 [#00487078]
Points: 167 Status: Lurker

no the whole album has leaked to the net. try soulseek. the
antistar file i was referring to is just a fake. this
instrumental one clocks up to just 3 minutes while the real
one is 8 minutes long and with vocals... the album will be
streamed on their website by the end of this month.

i heard it for the first time today
they surely didnt change much compared to mezzanine
i guess they need longer breaks between albums to make the
proper stuff
im not saying i dont like this new stuff-its wonderful, but
i'd expect something different
and also, im sure it will grow on me in no time :)

Slightly off topic but does anyone have that 10cd Massive
Attack box set that came out about 5 years ago?

10 cds of remixes etc in a box that changed colour when you
touched it... I saw it in a shop for about 50 squids
yesterday and was wonderin' whether to buy? Worth the yen or
not?

Can you elaborate a bit? Is it just endless remixes of same
tracks?

Thanks.

it got a dreadful review in this month's Q but what do they
know!? Obviously quite a bit because they are music
journalists and it is their job but I'm still going to buy
it. Sinead O'connor and massive attack sounds like a dream
combination in my books. I'll be first in the queue when it
comes out!

there are 11 cds in it (singles of course) each one has like
4 remixes of the single itself. (some of them are like 3
remixes and another track also remixed) many of the remixes
are by mad professor, but there are also by portishead,
blur, manic street preachers...

seeing this (4 remixes of one same track in a single) you
may think its a bit repititive but its not.

the best remixes tough in my opinion are from the mezzanine
tracks

its a set of all singles up to inertia creeps, there's also
a vinyl edition which i was stupid enough not to buy at the
time

on my copy, the last track is 20 minutes... there's
basically a loop thats really quiet for about 16 minutes or
so, then it comes back and it's like "taa daa!"

it IS a hidden track, but it's only about 20 seconds or so
after the last, and it's long as hell too
