does anyone have any information on where this guy
disappeared to? does he have anything new coming out? i know
he toured with madonna (boo) recently, and he's been djing,
but when are we gonna see a new album or ep or something?

i had the "Darkdancer" on minidisc, but i sold the
player.....

anyway, the album is great. cheezy 80-ish power drums,
electro vibes...my favourite on Darkdancer has to be "About
Funk". Awesome track!

i listened to "damaged people" and the melody in parts is
very similar to the one in the Spirit Temple of Zelda:
Ocarina of Time! (which is not a bad thing...) : )

Darkdancer was a fun song. that takes me back to the late
nineties. I first heard it in Germany over the summer of
'99. Fun trip.

no, "les rythmes digitales" is a guy from zoot woman - so he
isn't french. his name is stuard(?) price. mirwais is
actually french (but has afghan origins) and it's his real
name.

confusing....

since we are speaking of Mirwais when is his new stuff gonna
debut?

the LRD remix of eurodisco by bis sounds remarkably similar
to a depeche mode song

les rythmes digitales = jacques lu cont

he's been spending his time djing seeing as how there's been
this big 'electroclash' revival, you can get his cd fabric
live 09: jacques lu cont in the shops, it's pretty wicked,
got stuff from eurithmics to devo, to the pixies!

hey i'm really shocked, LRD is _not_ french?! hmm *goes and
checks* i have the 10" 'liberation' and it even has the
french flag colours somewhere..
anyways i really like his stuff, want more releases :(( is
all his stuff 10"? more stuff should be 10". it's so cool.

i have bene planning for a long time to make a mix set with
my vinyls.. it will also be featuring some LRD if i ever get
to the decks with md or something..

the guys name is jaques lu cont and the texts in the album
are french..

offline Spacecadet on 2003-05-01 02:31 [#00679270]

i think he's got french parents or something, but apart from
that he's as english as me

liberation is wicked. but ya can't beat the almost
sickeningly 80's darkdancer yyow!

offline uzim on 2007-05-23 08:26 [#02086605]

Les Rythmes Digitales could hardly have been french... "Lu
Cont" does not sound actually like an authentic french
surname ("Lecomte" would be), and even "Les Rythmes
Digitales" is grammatically wrong (it should have been "Les
Rythmes Digitaux" — though i admit it wouldn't have
sounded as good).

anyway —who cares?— Darkdancer is great! : )

It was a joke, playing on the fact that at the time (late
90s) the press were hyping the "French Touch", the sound of
artists like Daft Punk, Air, Ettienne De Crecy, Alex Gopher,
etc
