Voting starts NOW!

(any "neither they're both shit" or "sex pistols sold out
blah blah" will be counted as spoiled ballots.)

The Sex Pistols = Boy Band
The Clash = Band

3 nil.... 3 nil 3 nil.... You're going home in a f*ckin'
ambience

"Go to the 'Villa and u will see
A bunch of fairies on a Christmas Tree
They don't drink beer and they don't drink rum,
Coz they get pissed on, wine gums."

Hmmm deep.

So its 3 - 0 to the Clash and one spoiled paper in the
opening few minutes of this historic battle... and it's all
to play for as more voters return from the pub after a 4
pint lunch break...

This is radio clash - that song alone puts those twats out
of the running.

Pistols were manufactured etc. but time has proven that
Pistols are more important. Also, the pistols give birth to
PIL whereas all that the clash have produced are Big Audio
Dynashite.

The Clash BY FAR... Sex Pistols are overrated bullocks,
fittingly.

So it's roughly 7 - 2 to the Clash with some fuzzy voting
being upheld by the judging panel. Comparisons between the
Pistols and young male bovines confusing...

The Clash..
no competition really...
but
The Clash Vs PiL
on the other hand would be a slightly more even match..

sex pistols were NOT a boy band - that's a myth. at the
start, they were as legit a band as any other.

on the other hand, the clash were more than willing to make
their music ultra-radio friendly, even though it was never
that rough-edged to begin with. i don't even consider the
clash a punk rock band - they're more like pre-ska.

the clash are so over-rated it's ridiculous - their lyrics
are contradictory and wimpy, their sound is streamlined for
radio and lacks even a trace of the raw energy the sex
pistols had. the only reason the clash are so popular is
because they sounded like the beatles playing reggae.

context.

public image limited vs mick jones (BAD)

i would have to go with pil

so the pistols

i have to go with legacy.

in a straight up punk contest, i would choose sex pistols,
because the clash songs i like the most are the softer ones
like lost in the supermarket, spanish bombs, the guns of
brixton, etc.

The clash!! Although, I do like like the pistols and think
they had a grasp of song writing. More than they were given
credit for. Some of there stuff was actually radio
friendly.
