right. just downloaded some stuff from their '96 album
"electric dimension". pretty crap title, but this sounds
okay.. good even!

now, I haven't heard a lot of kraftwerk, so do some of you
have any recommendations..? which albums should I
absolutely hear..?

Yes!
You must hear 'Computer World'... Single handedly got me
into Electronic music!

And while your at it, grab 'Mix'... kinda Greatest
hits/tracks redone etc type CD! Very good indeed.

Trans Europe Express is my favourite...with the title track
probably being my favourite KW track of all...

Computer World, Electric Cafe & Man Machine are all
essential KW...ealier stuff than that (like the
Radioactivity album) can be a bit hit n miss really...but
you can't go far wrong with anything by em; stll sound
pretty timeless....

Tell us more about this "electric dimension"
album?...haven't heard of that one (is is a bootleg or
something?..)...

I've only heard earlier Kraftwerk - nothing tops the
Autobahn LP - kommetenmelodie is EXQUISITE

basically...everything they did is pretty damn good...

hehe...up at 4am everyday now, mate...

Not sure how I do it...but it's like having 3hrs extra a day
when I can do whatever I like...

Only been doing it for about a month now but I actually feel
a lot better for it...I used to hate mornings and getting up
but now it's like eyes open at 3.59 & just get up...don't
even need an alarm...

yeah, just about to put that on, actually...not a duff track
on there...

mmm...neon lights...

(and the photo of them on the inside cover, with them all
standing hand on hip on some stairs always cracks me up for
some reason...)..

can tell you, I NEVER got used to it! Hats off to you ;)

Mmm, Autobahn and Trans Europa Express are great... Trans
EUROPE Express is even better, I dig languages that I can
understand.

Pocket Calculator is goofy and cool, too. Anytime I hear
Kraftwerk mentioned, I swear to God I get a craving for
Kraft Dinner, it's too strange.

When I'm interested in a band I like to check out their
debut album first. I'll suggest that in this case; Kraftwerk
1. You'll freak when you hear Ruckzuck. I remember being
amazed when I first heard it, I couldn't believe it was made
in 1971.

right. thanks everybody, I'll be sure to explore KW in
depth, now..

jand: on "electric dimension", I kind of just grabbed
something on slsk, then looked it up on Amazon. it seems to
be a normal album, came out in '96. its kind of techno-y and
a nicely weird..

Kraftwerk is the coolest band in history followed by Run
DMC fashion wise.Timeless! (kraftwerks music is pretty
timeless to)

My alltime favorite Kraftwerk song is probably Computer Love
, those beautifull melodies went straight to my heart.
They showed a very good documentary on kraftwerk here a
couple of months ago and i was supriced to see how friendly
and cool people they seem to be.
I had imagined they where gonna be these artsy fartsy stuck
up people with big egos , ok they are a bit artsy fartsy but
not like i had imagined.

hehe, I bought Computer World yesterday finally... I've been
meaning to get it for a while... but it's fantastic, I love
it... there's nothing like old analog synth sounds, and cool
retro drum machines... I love this straight through though,
I've listened to it over and over since I got it, just
repeating it... I love Computer Love and It's More Fun to
Compute the most... those two tracks are awesome!!

the whole thing is quality though... and it's short, and to
the point, so you can't really get bored with it!

nothing like getting into a band like this, knowing there's
so much music of theirs to buy... definitely going to have
to get some more Kraftwerk!
