Did I meet Slint? Well, not entirely. I've met Dave Pajo and
Britt Walford. They're pretty nice.

Louisville's music scene used to be pretty cool. There's
only a few good bands around here now. Strike City and
Seluah are very good.

those legendary bands?how is livin in lousville?cool?

Unfortunately, no I haven't had the chance to see those
bands. I have a couple live performances of Slint in mp3,
but that's about it. :)

Louisville's alright, if you dig that city atmosphere. I
have no complaints. It's pretty rainy right now though,
heh.

There's also some interesting experimental/electronic
artists here too. I wish they'd leave their houses more
often though -- they never play shows. :(

DJ Spooky is also called, DJ Spooky that Subliminal Kid. The
only track I have of his is a remix of "City Life" by Steve
Reich. One of my friends has one of his albums which I've
listenend to and thought was pretty good, say 7/10. I forget
which one it was, but there was a track called "Dr. Satan's
Echo Chamber" on it.

that's the subliminal minded ep the cover is blue and it
looks like the UN peace keepers logo? anyway that song is on
that ep.

I bought riddam warfare on september 10th last year kinda
errie! I wonder if they still sell that album with that
image on it? I noticed it was yanked from cdnow.com after
the 11th.

i think he JUST put one out this month or last month. one of
the tracks features J-Live, one of the most intelligent,
eloquent, and technically amazing emcees out there right
now.

released march 2003

there's a barnes & noble link... see my messages in the
"burning cd's" thread for tips on how you can get this cd
cheap, though not as cheap as it'd be if you lived in the
U.S.

dj spooky - modern mantra
this has been in my cd player constantly for the last couple
months. really good mix cd.
it's a really diverse mix. it starts off with some dope
breaks and hip hop and goes into drum'n'bass and finishes
off with some ambient tracks.
really nice
