I've just recently started listening to the music of Aphex Twin, and my god, this guy is awesome... I bought The RDJ album first, and that blew me away, especially Girl/Boy Song, but really all of it, and then I bought I Care Because You Do, and that's head and shoulders above the other album... those are the only two albums I have by him right now, but man, I've been listening to I Care Because You Do basically nonstop for weeks... it's totally awesome... I remember seeing the Come to Daddy video on the wedge on Muchmusic here in Canada, and I was totally freaked out by it... it's definately not a good representation of the "better" aphex twin in my opinion... I only own two albums, but I've listened to alot of songs from other albums, and I recommend I Care Because You Do if you're starting out with Aphex Twin... it is a comination of the more ambient Aphex Twin, with the more drum and base Aphex Twin, and I think the combo is awesome, but it'll also give you a chance to decide which facet of his music you like best... anyways, just thought I'd post something here... later... |

Funkmaster -- check out SAW 85-92 and Caustic Window Compilation. Polygon Window is decent too ... as well as SAW 2, BUT if you don't like Brian Eno then you probably won't like SAW II. But i like both so it works out fine. |
