i saw it over the summer. i honestly think that he thought
he was human. they were both imposters but didn't know it.
the real married couple were killed, you saw them in the
ship. everyone died in the end.

yeah...

but my question is, why did he blow up?

His target was the prime minister lady right?

Well, alls that happens, is he realizes he's fake, goes
"No!" and blows up. ?!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?

i mean, his target wasnt there, and he is only supposed to
detonate when he is around his target right?

It I dont think its some selfdestruct thing either, or else
his wife would have blown up too.

(hehehe anyone reading this, not knowing anything about the
movie would think this is a really fucked up conversation!
=)

he blew up cos he was programmed to blow up. who was his
target again? are you SURE he wasn't there? if he wasn't
then maybe it wasn't his true target. i'm sure he destroyed
whoever he was programmed to destroy.

so either
1) he thought he was a living being and was programmed to
self-destruct when the truth was revealed
or
2) he was just a really convincing liar and he blew up
purposely in the end

i mean if he didn't blow up then he would've been caught and
destroyed right?

im certain that he didnt know he was a robot.

But they said the target was that lady prime minister...

and if he was supposed to self destruct when the truth about
him was revealed... why didnt he blow up when he was caught
at the beggining of the movie, before escaping... and why
didnt his cyborg wife blow up when she realized she was
fake?

Everything was fine until he saw the real guys body, and he
was like "if thats the real (dudes name) then-" and
explodes.

it doesnt make sense

well he was truly surrounded in the end. in the beginning it
seemed escapable, as it did throughout most of the rest of
the movie.

so anyway, i think we're right about him being
innocent/unaware of his being a "robot". maybe he was
programmed to self-destruct at the sight of his dead self.

i guess...?

i wished they would have explained it better, cause its
really pissing me off

but I did like the CONCEPT of the movie.

i need to read these short stories... I wonder if there is
like a collections book with Dicks short works, like
Minority Report and Imposter etc...?

yea the concept was dope. i keep looking for dick's "a
scanner darkly" cos i haven't seen a movie based on it (thus
i have no previous conceptions of it coming into the story)
but alas my library doesn't have it.
