(D'Angelo)
yea i own it, this is one of my favorite albums. especially
like "one mo' gin" and "africa", i get those stuck in my
head frequently. and of course "untitled" is a classic.

hell yes. I remember when i first bought it, and put on the
first track "playa playa". when ahmir kicks into the high
hat groove, it is soo fuckin cool. the part when the horns
come in.

I love in "untitled" towards the end they are just singing
"how does it feel?!" and all this phaser and reverb comes
in on all the instruments and it gets all fucked up and then
just stops out of nowhere. its a really beautiful cd.

d'angelo is a fucking musical genius. "africa" is simple but
so powerful, especially the acoustic version.

i agree with you man.. d'angelo is one of the greats, right
up there with stevie wonder, curtis mayfield, marvin gaye,
and prince. it's amazing how he can play all those
instruments so well. he sits at a piano and music just flows
through him. so few people have that (super)natural talent
like d has. voodoo is a phenomenal album.

it's looking like a circle jerk here buddy. i guess these
poor saps here have no soul, no funk, and no idea of
romance.

hey man, i think the thing about it is that people have the
idea stuck in their heads that he is some MTV hip hop guy.
I mean his album cover doesn't exactly make you wanna go out
and buy the album. But if your open minded enough and you
can get to the music, its fantastic.

you're right.. it's sad that some people still judge albums
by the cover. i'm glad a couple million people bought voodoo
though because it's one of the best albums in years. it's a
shame these so-called music fans (xltronic) won't even try
to get into it, but maybe a lot of them aren't capable of it
anyway because their minds have been "warp"ed by all this
idm nonsense.

voodoo is in my all time top 10... id say "The Root" is
clearly one of the best songs ever created.
