magic book or something, all old and dusty, full of quotes
that sits next to your computor, and every day you just
randomly open to a different page and post the quote

the Dalai is NOT corporate....he's bringing attention to the
situation in tibet, and i forgive him hanging with celebs,
etc to get his message across.

i think he's a brilliant philopher and genuine person. i've
seen him speak and i was moved emotionally and
intellectually.

i can see where you might get that idea....when i see him
with richard gere i cringe!

--------

when i find some british minimalism....you'll see it on the
MB =0)

Kid 606: I think there is lots of uninspired garbage made by
people who have too much time on their hands. Commercially
viable electronic music (like Crystal Method) is lacking
lots of the new sonic experimentation, which has been a
staple of electronic music since its birth. I think the
underground of electronic music seriously needs to infuse
itself with more emotion and stuff like vocals (I know, I
know, sounds lame) and personality though, because just
plain sonic experimentation is going to be cheapened and
exploited by all the people doing it who don’t really have
anything to say. Too much of it is unimpressively
one-dimensional.

well what good has he brought?.... none.... just and
attention seeking corporate c-s.... he uses his voice tone
to make himself sound intelligent even thought the things he
says are complete rips on other peoples speeches etc...

well we all have our opinions.

mine doesn't revolve around the religion he leads.....i
don't know much about it all. i do know he promotes good
things and thats pretty cool in my book.

and he has quite a wicked sense of humor.....which is
another bonus in my book.

*looks at thick book and decides i need to clean it oot* =0)

i didn't quote VS.... i trully hate organised religion...
always have always will.... this to me is organised
religion.... ie brianwashing using various predictable
techniques... but i am not into the mood of arguing... i
will save that for when i get to work in an hour :)

i am usually against organized religion, but buddhism is the
one non violent religion (that i know of)

and so no matter what, that puts it above all the others imo

Budhism is more a philopsophy than a religion.
No gods there.

the quote has nothing to do with religion unless you take
everything that a religious figure says as wholly
religious.

i DO not!

i'm not in ze mood to argue either, but i couldn't disagree
with you more.

mr. dalai lama was on a visit here in slovenia couple of
months ago. he is really a very nice man, he always seems to
be happy-tho he must be worried about the whole tibet
situation. the thing that i like the most about him is that
he is a very natural , humorous and friendly person.

That's fundamental in their way of confront life. A year ago
I gone deep into budhism. Left it cos couldn't take the
reincarnation stuff... But that's the only point I disagree
with.

here is a quote by oscar wilde

"nowdays people know the price of everything, and the value
of nothing."

i wonder what would he say today, if he'd be alive.

what i like about budhism is that, it actually teaches you
how to live a healthy and happy life, how to interact with
nature...
but it takes a lot more if you want to practice budhism(and
be a good budhist) than just to live by their principles.

"You're obliged to pretend respect for people and
institutions you think absurd. You live attached in a
cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you
despise, condemn, and know lack all foundation. It is that
permanent contradiction between your ideas and desires and
all the dead formalities and vain pretenses of your
civilization which makes you sad, troubled and unbalanced.
In that intolerable conflict you lose all joy of life and
all feeling of personality, because at every moment they
suppress and restrain and check the free play of your
powers. That's the poisoned and mortal wound of the
civilized world."

-Octave Mirbeau, the Torture Garden
