Does anyone in this board have any insights on art or architecture? or any works that have gotten stuck in your head throughout you life?....i know that long time ago, my fellow architect friend Nacmat posted something about this, but since then, a LOT of new faces are around, so, (besides LeCoeur), anyone?? |

ooookkkaay, since all you peeps are so selective about what topics to follow_up to, i´ll "follow_up" to myself. ¿what would be the essence on any work of ART? it isn´t the will to manifest feelings, nor thoughts, nor messages, nor meanings. A work of art must lead through all these (that are implicit in it), the posibility that gives place to ALL posibilities. That which makes it possible for all possibilities to exist against what could appear as caotic. Artists such as Jean Michell Basquiat or Jackson Pollock challenge the actual insights of society on modern (or what´s called post-modern art)art, giving "chance" and unconsciousness such strength that their work just overwhelms those who can appreciate it. anyways, goodnight. |

I don't think about art, it just happens. I see a picture (I'm on Deviantart.com right now looking for some backgrounds), and I either like it or I don't, I don't dwell on the meaning. It just conjures up different emotions, I don't know why and I don't like to THINK about why. Chaos, schmaos, possibilities, schmossibilities. |

Corn mouth, I got PUMP... it kicks ass so far- have you tried it on random? That makes it even better! One major structural rule that appears in things that look aesthetically pleasing to me seems to be symmetry. Or slight deviations of a prototype symmetry, mutating symmetry. Pure symmetry which would be a three dimensional block of empty space is boring, any part can be rotatated or flipped to be exactly the same as any other part. I read art evolved with magic rituals and whatnot, it surely has something to do with our evolved consciousness... ability of forsight... drawing cave paintings of hunting animals. Another thing I've thought about is that art basically serves to entertain us since we're bored since that damned meteor killed all our predators. We have a super complex consciousness that evolved in an environment that no longer exists, so we create artificial stimulus. |

i´m glad you liked pump dood, great rip-off artist lp. i agree on the aesthetics of symmetry, or slight deviations, mutations and de_formations of it, which can lead to new symmetries which can be deformed and so on, creating an inconsistant yet related pattern. nice insight dood. ; ) |
