Its funny, I was thinking: You have to have great skills
to be signed to get on warp but you have to have great looks
and almost no skills to get on an american label. i swear
to god if someone doesn't kill bush i will.

Is it Bush fault that american music is all looks and no
content?

Please, I don't like the purely capitalism model for
producing music either but it ain't Bush's fault.

The real culprit is that most people don't seem to really
care about music. By that I mean most people don't have any
curiosity about the music that lies outside the mainstream.
They go out and buy music off the pop charts at an alarming
rate. Major labels make mad cash and the beat goes on...

look at it this way man.. . I dont believe people that by
pop music like music at all, they are buying fashion.. .
thats why they have the whole "important" image thing on the
singers and not the people that actually made the music, its
all labels and current trends.. . pop music is not music. ..
unless its popular because its been around awhile and is
actually good.. . you know, like some rock bands etc. ..

Glitch: i disagree. most people i know really enjoy music,
they just don't have the same curiosity as i do about what
is outside of the mainstream. they're perfectly fine
listening to the acts they like BEST on the radio (they
don't necessarily like every act on the radio). i think it's
very elitist to just assume they don't care about music just
because they don't have the same appreciation for truly
alternative music as you do. you have to understand that
most of america is suburban or rural and that outside of the
internet (which most kids use just to chat with their
real-life friends, in case you didn't know), they really
don't have an outlet for discovering non-mainstream music.
so be careful with your assumptions.

yes music is a fad. all the record companies are run by
george bush. it's a conspiracy between george bush and his
brother osama bush to rid the world of talented music.

they act like they care becasue they can't come off straight
away as like, yeah i don't know shit. so they try and mix
in with peeps like us by hating other bands on the radio,
which i find is retarded.

it's like people who don't eat orange starburst or purple
skittles cuz the taste is awful?! it's fuckin' sugar!!! it
taste the same as fuckin' red starburst or yellow skittles!
eat that shit!

thats the best thing about warp....no pretty people just
talent. I highly doubt you'll see boc/squarepusher selling
coke or pepsi on tv. I hope this music never fades and the
artists keep coming.

In terms of other peoples listening habbits...to each their
own. My brother popped an autechre cd in and was like, dude
seek help. When i first listened to them i was like christ
did i just waste 20 bucks on a CD? But i learned to appr.
it over time.

It makes me giggle to see lil kids (teens etc) be like
P.O.D. is soooooooo hardcore man. when their not. Don't
get me started on them though...

american radio blows...not b/c the don't play electronic
music or other types of music i like...but they just play
the same 20 songs in different orders every single day. All
of the songs IMO sound the same. I can only tell the
difference between Limp Bizkit and POD bye the singers
voice...'so called dance 4/4 beat' stations, christ....that
shit sounds like a 24 hour mega mix... I just wish quality
of the stuff played improved....and varied a lil bit.

most people are stupid, so they like stupid stuff (not just
music, but all types of media.... and lots of other stuff
thats off topic)

unfortunately, most people also have the most money.
:(

...i dunno about the rest of u, but i find hip-hop totally
repulsive/boring/stupid. I hate the culture-the clothing,
the performers....its so fake lookin/sounding.... when will
it die?

i just saw some stupid pepsi commercial, with 3 guys talking
all tough then...the fat one opens his mouth and he sounds
like a 5 yr old. "u know how we do" what the fuck does that
mean? How can u get signed for making shit like that?
