I would want something that fits in my pocket that has a
good 10-20 gig on Mp3s on hand.

There's a 10gig Mp3 player for $200 thAt I want. I'd
already own one but they still seem to eat a lot more
battery power than A MD does...

I have an old portable Sony MZR55 Minidisc recorder and I'm
quite happy with it. Sound quality is very good (definitely
better than the best mp3s), and I sometimes use it also to
record concerts with. (though you need an extra microphone
for that)
The worst bit about buying a MD is in the beginning when you
only have a couple of discs to play.

I've got a Phillips MP3CDplayer... suited my pocket as I
couldn't afford a HD one that had all the features I wanted
and the Flash Mem MP3 players are just too limited
memory-size wise....

This way I fit around 150 hi-quality MP3s on each disc...I
geenrally create one new a week which contains everything
I'm likely to listen to over the next week....

Cool to be able to play normal CDs as well...

I'll prob stick with this for another year and then
hopefully pukka HD ones like the Ipod etc will be a lot
cheaper/mass market...

I had no idea people actually said 'pukka'

I was tempted to get a gypo £50 MP3 CD player rather than a
HD one, I'm still waiting for the 10/20Gb models to come
down a bit before I decide on a HD/CD one.

The only downside with CDMP3 Players is the size, I
guess...but I don't find it a problem as it sits pretty
happily in my jacket pocket or shoulder bag....

Probably worth spending a little more than £50 tho...think
you can get decent ones (Sony, Philips) for just a little
bit more; it's little details like Anti-Skipping that gets
skimped on with the cheaper models...

I reckon by this time next year, you should be able to get a
10gig HD player for around £130-£150...prices seem to be
headed that way....

"I reckon by this time next year, you should be able to get
a
10gig HD player for around £130-£150...prices seem to be
headed that way.... " That's what I'm waiting for- and one
that has the option of a car stereo conversion kit so I can
plug the line out into the stereo.

I've got a good old fashioned Sony Discman.

I don't need 40 gigs of songs with me when I'm on the run!
One CD-R is more than enough... I'm about to start the
perilous walk to work, and I'm taking ''Do You Know
Squarepusher?'' with me.

Where is it you work now? Did you get that job at the
church?

I work at an ambulance facility, I have to make sure all the
drugs and supplies and everything are all intact, sometimes
wash them, etc... just keep them up to snuff. It's a great
summer job...

But it's a JOB... so it sucks. I feel defeated, like some
stupid cog in this 9-5 world. Ugh. Kill me. But now I gotta
run, kill me later.

Ahh, hairytongue.com ... I've contributed twice to that site
:)

I like the fake PSP jamie oliver menu; gaussian malarky, add
fake friends, sell soul to supermarket etc.

There's even a CTD parody on it...
