i've heard this story here in the states as well. It came
across pretty much the same way. On this matter i'm learnign
towards the american direction for the followign reasons:
All american bases and their inhabitats are internationally
considered as americans, not their occupying country. Also,
the two soldiers are getting court marshled for an accident.
A court marshel distroys any chance one has of making it in
a civilian life. It's worse to employers to see a
courtmarshal on a background check than multiple felonies.

Now, i dont' remember if korea practices the death penelty,
so i dont' really know what would be their fate if they were
released to keorean jurisdiction.

"The two soldiers involved face up to six years in prison if
convicted at court-martial. A South Korean civilian court
could impose a sentence of up to five years on the same
negligent homicide charge. "

I think it's just a matter of principals..a court marshall
will be closed to civilians and hence un available for the
families of the girls to gert some kind of closure on the
matter..

What is more telling is the US opposition to a world war
crimes court. They now that many of their own, including
Henry Kissinger, would be in the dock.

ok, before i make an opinion on this i need to childishly
make fun of the fact that the op is called "operation:
FINGERDIKE!!!!" hahaha....

that somehow reminds me of the last episode of dennis miller
live...for those who don't know, at the end of his shows, he
has pics for various new articles and whatnot and verbally
adds his own captions to them. well, he had this pic of bush
jr. breifly touching the hands of these two ladies who sat
next to him at some confrence table, and the caption dennis
miller added was: laddies, i'm george w; w'ya (pronounced
double-ya, but all fast like george bush talks) pleasure,
w'ya fun.

Sorry no links I'm afraid. I'd just read it in newspapers
etc. Try a google search for John Pilger, Noam Chomsky,
Tariq Ali et al for discussions of such matters.

I remember Dennis Miller having a field day when Bush Sr.
blew chunks over the Japanese prime Minister...

I have mixed feelings about opposing this world crimes
court. On the one hand i think that the conditions will be
so harsh, that the guilty of minor crimes, like in that
article, will be overwheming and unjust, and on-top of that,
what happens if one's found innocent? I dont' think they can
slip back into the cogs of the american military that easly.
By the time they go through the process, their job will most
likely have been taken.

on the OTHER and more important hand, oposing the world war
crimes court and practially starting a war against the
netherlands, is extreamly, extreamly evil. we all know the
other side of this sword.

that's america...we act under the cover of being just in
order to rape you, and get away with doing it.

What's all this about the US starting a war against the
Netherlands?

What's going on?

As you probably know the International Warcrime Tribunal is
in the Hague(the Netherlands)

George W. Bush has just approved a law which states any
country housing the International Warcrime Tribunal can be
invaded in case an American warcriminal is held there.

We're not being attacked yet and the site I posted is a
parody on the situation.
