I was in the record store today browsing the selection, and a guy threw this on... anyway, I heard the first track (title track), and it was cool, with all the distorted vocals, drums, and organ-sounds. Anyone have this cd, it's cylob isn't it?

I really really like this release. There's only three tracks, but they're pretty cool.

Mr Tenzin, I don't DJ or anything, but the first time I heard the title track (and What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor for that matter) I immediately thought they'd be good tracks to open set with, to get things started off right!

the cylob cd 'previously unavailable on compact disc' is a selection of his earlier work, some of it under the name of kinesthesia, all of it far superior to the novelty music he does now (bar cut the midrange as i quite liked that). needless to say, it comes well recommended

Cylobian Sunset is pretty good, I haven't listened to Mood Bells enough yet to have an opinion. I Left My Heart In Syntax Error is the best song off Cylobian Sunset, I think.

it's just gimmicky, make sure you reeeeally want joke techno music before you plop down money for a cd or two otherwise you'll feel super ripped off. my favorite song of his, "rewind", i have on the braindance coincidence compilation and that should only cost you a mere TEN bucks, you might just be better off with that instead.

as in gimmicky, not something you'd actually put on when you're in the mood for electronic music/idm. just something you'd put on for a friend, "hey listen to this track, it's hilarious" or play at a party to achieve the same effect.

The best cylob is cylob's latest effort, i greatly dislike the candy feel to cylob...but that's reflex records...

What's happened to Cylob? I tuned out around Cylobian Sunset. Most of his stuff up until then was pretty good if a bit melancholy. Recently I listened to some more recent tracks and most of it is "joke techno" as titsworth described.
Maybe it's "depressed clown" syndrome or something.
Cylob gets slagged a lot on this board, but you should give anything from Cylobian Sunset or earlier a listen if you haven't heard it.
