"Recent rumours suggested that it's actually fellow Rephlex recording artist Ovuca, as was apparently announced before a recent Rephlex night in New York..."
That did happen while I was there, but he said "Whose ready for some Astrobotnia?" and then spun it. He didn't say, "I am Astrobotnia!"

Well I saw Ovuca live in Munich and he played a couple of Astrobotnia tracks. I haven't heard any Ovuca other than the Braindance Coincidence track so I couldn't tell if he played other people's tracks as well. If it isn't Ovuca then at least it's definitely done something for his back catalogue sales I'd say!

wow thats a pretty groundbreaking discovery... i'd have thought the BBC are a fairly reliable source assuming that Rephlex fed them truthful info... maybe Kristian Richards is a new kid on the block?
strange how his surname is Richards though...

it's not some "Kristian Richards" because if it were just a new artist on the label there'd be credits for K. Richards. the only reason they don't have credits for astrob is because it's supposed to be a mystery, meaning it's an artist we already know (maybe someone from another record label who can't legally release music elsewhere).
