Most Emotional Song?!?!?

Ok, we've done sadest, and probably happiest and all... but
overall, what is the most emotional song... it could be a
combo of emotions, or even emotions that you can't really
put a name to, but what song just brings out emotion in you
like no other?

For me recently it's been Tha by Aphex Twin... everytime I
listen I almost break down crying, but then sometimes it
feels hopeful, sometimes lonely and distant, etc... this is
a brilliant song imo!!

Fingerbib!

There are probably more emotional songs, but this is just
great. I love the simplicity of it.

Vletmrx21 makes my head EXPLODE, I get tears in my eyes and
an itch on my brain when I listen to it. Rhubarb is right up
there.

Avril 14 and Jynwethek.

Actually almost all the songs of Drukqs are emotional to me.

i was thinking about this the other day...

i think it's maybe 'Manhattan Skyline' by Kings of
Convenience.
"now i sing wave good-bye, wave good-bye. I dont want to cry
again, I'll never see ur face again" - that line just kills
me! And their voices are sooooo....... amazing, with their
lovely harmonies!

the Instrumentalversion of the chorus song, "I'll Catch
You", out of the anime "laputa" is pretty emotional for me
too, and i've not even seen the film!

Songs from the Get Up Kids always seem to be pretty
emotional, but they're emo, and emo bands just like crying
lots and lots ;-)

My song I made called 'Tides of pillows hitting cement
staircases in old places at 4:30 am in the morning' brought
out the feeling of angst while keeping slight hints of
contempt and jealousy. Morbid thoughts from the actual
sound of pillows hitting the stairs grabbed my mind and
shifted between thoughts off sadness and depression while
the 4:30 am aspect hinted at a forthcoming knowledge which
led to positive thoughts and established feelings of
overwhelming joy and satisfaction. Id show you guys this
song but...

"My Sheeetz" by Buckethead off the "Somewhere Over the
Slaughterhouse" record is a brilliant emotional
instrumental.

Runners up:
"Pillars" by Sunny Day Real Estate [instrumentation & vocal
melody]
"Pushit" by Tool [instrumentation & vocal melody, especially
on the "Salival" version]
"Message From Kathlene" by Alkaline Trio [vocal melody &
lyrics, this is the emo kid in me showing himself ;)]

port rhombus - this song is indescribably beautiful
vletrmx21 - same deal as ophecks, it just blows me away that
the same basic pattern repeated could be so charged
and for some reason stone in focus, i guess because its so
calming

"kivesq" by brothomStates. but not in the way that any of
these other songs are. it's very mature, gentle, and
reserved, but incredibly graceful and emotional. a good song
for mourning, accepting things changing, and accepting the
way things are.

STAIND?!? No wonder you seem to hate most of the music
spoken of on this messageboard, OK.

Well, now that I've gotten that out of the way... I'd have
to say either "Subterranean Homesick Alien" or "Motion
Picture Soundtrack (live acoustic version)" by Radiohead...

There's a lot of really emotional music, but those two songs
could give me goosebumps in any situation.

Slint- Good morning captain --- The ending is so effective,
the words "I miss you" are screamed so dramatically it makes
the 5+ minute buildup just blow you away..

Beskhu3epnm from Druqks. every time I hear it it seems to
carry a different emotion, sometimes its depressing and
other times saddening, but at the end it always seems
hopeful and triumphant. I love that song :)

I'm goin to see the get up kids tomorrow (6/26)!!! They are
my favorite non IDM band! All of their songs are incredibly
emotional so thats just too many to list, thats why I stuck
with beskhu ;)

For me, the selected ambient works albums are both very
emotional. The first brings more of futuristic feel to it
and the second volume seems like more of a reflection on the
past. Both give a feeling of "it doesnt matter because it
will all end up the same in the end. you and i will be dead
and no one will know our story." Thats the best way i can
phrase it.
