I got 2 things for you:

1) You seem to be pretty keen on the 'progressive house'
genre. Ive seen it lots before at the store and all. What
makes house 'progressive'? How is it different from deep
house, hard house, etc?

2) I don't know if you were being sarcastic but I really
did not agree with what you said on that message board (you
got angry at that guy that called elec. music repetive and
all). I don't agree with this:

"And the fact that you normally don't like electronica
except when you're high does not bother me at all, because
that's how everyone else is, too. Except for the people who
don't use drugs, and for them, they never like ANY
electronica."

I do not do drugs when I listen (and I don't do drugs
anytime) and have enjoyed electronica for a good 6-7 years
now. I don't think you NEED to ever take drugs to enjoy
it...just another branch to go on if you so desire.

Don't start a drug conversation.

WTF?!
Why would anyone need drugs to enjoy electronica?

Yeah, I listen to electronica a lot when I'm on drugs but
it's not better than when I'm not on drugs....

Hmmm, here is my description of proggresive house:

PROGRESSIVE HOUSE IS SEX WITHOUT AN ORGASM.

It doesn't even climax or buildup. It makes everything else
seem cheesy, it almost seems aloof of all the other genres.
It is the COMPLETE opposite of hard house. Yanno how hard
house has all those acid breakdowns and predictable peaks
and such? Well progressive house totally omits any of that
cheesiness.

THE PURPOSE OF PROGRESSIVE HOUSE IS TO KEEP YOU GRIPPED TO
THE MUSIC WITHOUT EXPLOSIONS OR CHANGES IN TEMPO OR
RELEASES.

I think the only real way to describe it is sex, except
excluding the orgasm part. Everything before the orgasm and
the climax towards the orgasm is what progressive house is
like. Somewhat repetitive, true, but steady, smooth, and
flowing. It is capable of keeping your attention all by
itself.

If you want to check out some of this so called "progressive
house", get Global Underground 018, John Digweed in Los
Angeles. The best progressive house dj set ever. On cd,
anyway.

As for question 2, I was referring to people who go to
raves. They only enjoy the music because they are high. If
they were completely sober they wouldn't enjoy the music at
all.

Try to understand that I wasn't refering to electronica fans
like you and me. . . I was refering to people that go to
raves or people like the first guy who started the topic.

And "except for the people who don't use drugs, and for
them, they never like ANY electronica." Well for that you
can take most average people. My older sister (as was
aforementioned in my "Techno hater. . ." topic), absolutely
hates electronica. I'm sure if she was drunk and high
though, she wouldn't mind it all that much, and might even
enjoy it. However, she does not do any kind of drugs, so
she never enjoys any electronica. Being drunk, would not
alone make her enjoy electronic music, though.

I listen to it both when Im sober and when im not.. I enjoy
it greatly on both occaisons but find that I like it even
more when im high, but that's just me, I think it can be
different for anyone. We must celebrate diversity! We must
stand up for what is right! I have a dream! (please dont
take these last few sentences seriously or as mocking the
good Dr.)

We Albertans are quite amorous fellows, I'll have you know.
Fellow www.aphextwin.nu/mb user "Rephlex" first got laid at
13 (he's from Edmonton), and that was by an 18 year old
chick!!!

O.o

And Spoonz. . . well, he's also from Edmonton but he's only
13 and obviously not as depraved as Replex is, so his lack
of sexual experience is justified, I suppose.
