All I can say right now is that they should do a little Warp
Bus Tour in the USA...With all the artists that played there
including the Rephlex gang...At least I was in DC when the
Braindance toured the US and got the chance to see them in
NY,an excellent show I might say........==)

I said it in the other topics, but I'll say it again:

How could they forget Belgium and the Netherlands?
I had to go to Paris or Cologne if I wanted to see this.
Would there be a GOOD reason why we haven't seen the bus
tour here?
I really missed that bus,and all you guys talking about
it....
='(

But I hope you guys had a lot of fun there..

I think I'm going to e-mail warp about this...

Yes Zeus,we are all dying to really see them play here...I
wonder if someone from Warp looks at this MB and see all the
posting on how bad we want them to play in the
USA...Hopefully they will take the idea seriously and make a
tour or something, but we need to see more of the
Warp/Rephlex artists here....They're the best.........

Zeus,is there any way we can all unite, people, phans from the
USA to write to Warp records to see if there's anything they
can do about all of the IDM lovers in america...If you can
come up with an idea just let me know,I will sign watever I
have to......

offline quivvuulum from southhampton (United Kingdom) on 2002-06-17 20:26 [#00271138]

dont mention "IDM" in your email though !! ;)

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2002-06-17 20:29 [#00271143]
Points: 14042 Status: Lurker

hmmm.... a mass petition you mean? :)

i would do it!

the thing is... the fans of IDM are very spread out. You
cant just find them by walking around and stuff.

but if there was a concert, im sure theyd all converge... so
what we need is a way to get thier attention...

did that make sense?

i kinda lost my train of though...

Yes Zeus,I know just exactly what you mean, and yes,a mass
petition...:)
I know electronic music lovers all over US are a bit
difficult to reach, but it can be done,of course, starting
with all of us here in this MB.....Then,most of the friends
we have, they all have at least an e-mail,so we can start
from there,we can also start a big chain forwarding, but we
need one person, who after forwarding then he can send all
the people who signed the Mass petition, back to Warp
records, with everyones emails attached.....Did you like the
idea????

i got an idea!

ok, we could set up a website, called "Petition for Warp US
tours"

and it will just have a description of our goals, and big
sign up thing, you put your name and location and it goes on
this big list.

then, we start emailing everyone we know who is into IDM,
telling the about this site, and then ask them to pass along
the email to anyone they know who is into IDM, so hopefully
the 6th degree thing will happen.

I know 6 people who like electronic music, who knows 6
people, who knows 6 more etc etc... ??!?!

EH?!
What do you think?

What you mean by that, they don't pay them much in the
US??????? Explain??

US clubs are notorious for low payouts to bands, especially
european electronic, thats why we never come over dude, or
very rarely

a bit DISAPPOINTING...no plaid....shitty room it was shoved
into, so no 'big screens'....devine was good though

not really warps fault but come to think of it a letdown

Hmmmm,Zeus, that's an excellent one...I was just thinking
about emails....but if we can pull a nice website without
paying, then we could,if not just signing on the emails will
do it...... :)

yes, but if it was only emails... thered be now way to keep
track of those who signed it...

there needs to be a central place, so the signers names dont
get lost

It's sad to know that...they should pay them very well and
present them on nice clubs,or at least arrange the club so
they can look very nice......

In that you're right Zeus, have to consult with my
comp-wizard friend and ask those questions so as soon as
Wednesday I will contact him for that...to see how we can
construct just a basic-free-website........

same in england - low pay, but since we live here, it doesnt
matter.

germany, spain, france all pay well (2000 euros ($2000))
