What book should I read?

Hi I was wondering if any of you know some schizophrenic
writers that wrote some books either about their
schizophrenic attacks or when they had schizophrenic
attacks.

However, if you do not, any other suggestion is welcome!
:)

Thanks.

P.S. I am having a boring summer

hehe, well, I suggest you read The Wheel of Time if you're a
fantasy type of person... it's currently 9 books long, with
I believe 4 more planned... so that should help you get
through the summer... :)

NOT ROBERT JORDAN!!!! His series is good but the best
fantasy series ever (seriously!) is A Song of Ice And Fire
by George R. R. Martin.

Get the first book "A Game of Thrones" THIS is what I call
mature fantasy. . . it is totally realistic, and magic is
believable because it is a very rare thing. No one in this
book is invincible, and one is not even sure who the good
guys/bad guys are, since each character has good qualities
AND bad qualities.

So far there are 3 books in the series, and it's easily one
of the best series (of any genre) I've ever read.

I was actually looking for something that looks chopped-up
like egyptian book of the dead and does not make much sense
but has an artistic value.

Read the book called "When I was young I had a Schizophrenic
attack and killed two family members, two dogs, 13
pedestrians, a government officer, 20 police officers,
crumpled a tank, ate a baby, bought 2,395 items off Ebay,
bombed a grocery store AND set off a nuclear device in the
pacific ocean sinking: two battle ships, 8 oil tankers, 203
sail boats, 1 airplane, 89,382 sea life forms of which
14,493 are now extict."

Its a very very good book if you can find it

I haven't read much fantasy stuff... The Hobbit, the first
two books of The Lord of the Rings, and now The Wheel of
Time... I'm on book 6, but this is a fantastic series
though... if A Song of Ice and Fire is really that much
better I'll have to check that one out after!!

always entertaining, although not really on much of a deep
philosophical level... It is a fantastic book...

the "a song of ice and fire" series by George R R Martin is
awesome!!

i'm near the end of the second book now, so far its teh best
fantasy book i've ever read (and yes i have read LOTR). Nice
to see someone else hear who appreciates its brilliance.

Neil Gaiman is an excelent author too, anyone read any of
his books?

maybe i should talk about the book, eh?

it's about a man who discovers a way to turn water into ice
with out freezing it. he's got this stuff he made, it
changes water so it's freezing point is like 100 degrees
celcius or something. but it's much more than that, and i
think it's one of the best books ever. it's pretty short
too. and vonnegut is just one of the best ever.

Monurmnt >

I get the feeling some of these replies are treating
Schizophrenic issues as a joke...

Plus, Celestine prophecy (which I have read) has not much at
all to do with schizophrenia, more a mystical quest through
gateways to spiritual enlightenment.. or some other garbage
(:D)

I have just read a 1000 word article written by my sister
about her schizophrenic problems and her experiences of
medication and life in hospital

It is an amazing piece of writing, maybe you would like to
read that. If you're interested I could e-mail U. Spike
Milligan had Manic Depression, maybe U should check him out,
its not schizophrenia but diagnosis of the two is often
blurred :)

Philip K Dick's "Valis"... a very schizophrenic-ish, very
odd novel by a writer who had just had a schizophrenic style
major breakdown in the early 70's...his novel "Radio Free
Albemuth" was written before that, is actually a very
different first draft of Valis, and another novel he wrote
at the same period called "A Scanner Darkly" is just as
bizarre, about drugs and being deluded with different
realities that he has created... you said you wanted
schizophrenic stuff, this is it....without a doubt
