Joy Division aren't punk. :( Ian Curtis rocked (at least with only a few exceptions)! :)

Yah, phew! I hate all that pansy punk. "Closer" is a record that defies all categorization as anything other than Joy Division at their best!

No, I will not be like, "oh shit, I'm wrong; I'm a big dummy!" They're not good--no talent hacks!

"How To Clean Everything" by Propagandhi beats all NOFX releases in general IMO. It's an awesome album.

the punk etho is integral to the electronic movement
but punk music from the early 90s on out has been awful, i must say. i do like nofx tho, at least their early and mid career albums/songs.

they're amusing and catchy, i haven't listened to them in several years but i've always hated other punk bands besides them and nofx. the rest just aren't as interesting. they just copy each other.

pfft. There's nobody who doesn't care about money--anyone who claims not to care about money doesn't know what they're talking about. Money is essential to living. It's impossible not to care about money.

Yah, but if they accepted it, they would have lost their "underground" appeal and thus more money.
Punk is completely lame--terrible songs, cliched beats, two chords. Not to mention the completely terrible lyrics!

well that's pretty stupid... why would signing a deal with a big record label make you mainstream? If you have control over what is being written you write what you want to write... and, if you did have a big label putting more promotion behind you, isn't that a good thing? You know, trying to get the music out to as many people as possible... I understand all the stuff about credibility and shit, but still...

but you lose control over what is (and isn't) released, just ask the last emperor and a million other underground rappers (and rockers) who mistakenly signed with a major only to never see their new material ever released.
