i was at this tranceparty tonite/this morning in the middle
of the woods.... fucking far away from civilization. But
somehow those cop-fuckers found us and closed the shit down.
They also took all the money that was collected from all the
tickets.

fascists.

They had no particular reason. But in sweden, raves are
automatically associated with pure evil and must be stopped
at all costs.

I bet they're at a donut shop laughing at all the druggie
ravers right now. Paying for their Boston Creams with YOUR
rave ticket money! Ooooh!

there were laws called the criminal justice act which banned
repaetitive beats inpublic places and alienates loads of
travelling groups and beliefs - very draconian - that's what
the non repetitve beats of autechres anti are about - fuck
it though you can stilll have a good old illegal rave here
in the uk

well i am pessimisrtic and think if law and order breaks
down - it is naturally replaced by war and struggle and
maybe fascisim .. i mean earthleakage do you really expect
everone to be as gracious and selfless as you - ?

nexus 6.

well... that depends... people call all sorts of styles
"trance", just as when the definition of techno is rarely
properly used... maybe u just didnt find the right stuff.

or.,... maybe you have, anb just simply dont like it.

Ictroboy, I totallt dislike the trance you see on tv. My
whole country is full of trance. When you turn on the tv and
switch to our dutch music channel, it's just trance, trance,
trance and some other crap musicstyles.
Tho I've heard a couple of underground trance albums over
the last year and I have to say that they do sound a tiny
little better but i still hate it.

yes it is earthleakage in the charts - down the provincial
town dissco - every bloody ibiza comp - every english
tourist resort played by every big name dj ...

Nexus6: Ok, there's your problem. You hear "trance" on tv.
=D

if i could invite you to my home, and i was allowed to play
a couple of tunes for you, i'd probably blow away at least a
tiny bit of your brain.

My friend got pulled over tonight as we were on the way to a

though. But the lucky bastard got by w/ a warning.

it! As much as we think its an ass!

buddhist music is "trance" too, remember -- when you hear
the word trance and you think of Ibiza anthems or chart
music, then you are WAY off mark -- there is some great
trance out there! africans beating their percussive
instruments for an hour is "trance" too.

marlowe - comparing "castles in the sky" or robert miles
childr4en to hundreds of years old buddhist religious music
is pretty off the mark old boy - you couldn't get away with
a group of budhists stamping simultaneously to get rid of
bad spirits at cream...

also comparing ceremonial music to cheesy old tranceis naive
- when trnance borrows from word music to give it some
"spiritua;
2 feeling it's naive and patronising - usually the sort of
music listened to by trustafarians

stupidity and the vagueness of the label "trance"

I LOOVVEE trance!! Don't get me wrong I love Aphex Twin
too. . . it's just that I enjoy all sub-genres of
electronica, because there are GOOD things about each
sub-genre.

For example: Aphex Twin's music is not (of course)
danceable. DJ Tiesto's music (a Dutch trance figure you've
probably heard of) IS danceable.

Aphex Twin's music (most of it) is original. DJ Tiesto's
music is not original.

However there are things in DJ Tiesto's music that Aphex
Twin could never hope to accomplish in his music. . .

it's all a matter of perspective.

BTW "Castles in the Sky" by Ian Van Dahl is not trance; it's
house, and it's the CHEESIEST FUCKING SONG I'VE EVER HEARD
IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

there are a lot of great trance tunes out there by acts who
have made lots of duff tunes and lots of great tunes -- i
especially liked the eastern-tinged trance from the mid-90s

Trance sucks!!!!!!!
I have never heard any trance that i liked.

The swedish police sucks to!!!
They showed up yesterday at a DnB party that my mates had in
a park.
They was undercover and was going around asking people if
they had anything to sell .
I don't think the swedish police are alowed to work that way
in the first place?
As soon as they had leaved everybody started smoking
haha!!
It was a beautiful day =)
