Whom is this who created such a great album that you speak
of?

it's an amazing album, but not as fine as pure phase

offline nene from United States on 2002-06-08 16:32 [#00255824]

you're kidding right? pure phase is nice, but it's not as
transcendent as lazer guided melodies or ladies and
gentlemen we are floating in space.

What kind of band are Spiritualized, anyway? I've heard the
Chemical Brothers remix of their track "I Think I'm In
Love", which is great, but that's all I know about
Spiritualized. . .

sort of space-indie-rock band if i'm not mistaken. jason
pierce used to be in spacemen 3.

i'm pretty sure the whole band used to be spacemen 3

Been playing this loads this past week. I can't believe its
been sat on my shelf for 4 years relatively unplayed. What a
cock I am. Buy it, burn it, steal it or sell your arse for a
copy.

i saw spiritualized in limerick last weekedn, wasnt really
impressed, they played too much of their crappy new garage
rock stuff and not enough of those 17 minute wankery songs
that everyone loves em for. The crowd was appaling though
and talked throughout all the slow songs (always
spiritualized's best). Jason Pierece seemed really pissed
off, there was hardly a clap at the end when he walked off.
No encore, naturally!

"it's spacemen 3 minus sonic boom"
so that would be just jason pierce then.

I thought it was a great gig. The crowd were crap,
admittedly, but at least Dolan's didn't mind me skinning up
all night nonstop, which is unusual for Limerick.

anyone like let it come down? ive been meaning to get
ladies...for a while but ehh, it never happened. i will get
one of em someday.

let it come down's a solid album, but probably not the best
choice for your first spiritualized. it doesn't really tread
any new ground, plus most of the songs aren't depressing
enough.

Let it come down is overblown. Too much strings, horns,
etc., and not enough fuzzy guitar.

It's stll good, but not a patch on LAGWAFIS.

i agree. i think let it come down was somewhat of a let
down, didnt break any new ground and went in the wrong
direction, i.e. 3 minute songs instead of what spiritualized
are most loved for, their long drawn out drones. new album
seems exactly like the last aswell, unfortuanetly. my
favourite album is electric mainline, i liked the idea of
'suites' of music, on a similar vein to after bathing at
baxters by jefferson airplane.

OMFG Electric mainline part 1 at that gig the other night...
sooo good. I was jumping around like crazy for the 3 minute
Ornette Coleman-style free jazz freak out bit at the end, I
can tell you.
