yeah it's hard to choose only one, here's a few off the top
of my head

wouldn't it be nice - beach boys
tomorrow never knows - beatles
arnold layne - pink floyd
dazed and confused - led zeppelin
mr tambourine man - the byrds
sympathy for the devil - rolling stones
pretty much everything from hendrix - are you experienced?
:)

beach boys are great -- i have a few of their albums - i
love "smiley smile" the album

i love early 60s/50s music a lot as well - the so-called
"oldies" :)

The 60's is my favorite era.

Beach Boys, Stones, Kinks, Velvet Underground, Barrett-era
Floyd, Byrds, Hendrix, The Who, Zeppelin, Creedence, and
that unknown, underrated, underappreciated underground
group, the Beatles, fuck... that would have been so exciting
to be there.

I can't stop listening to Pet Sounds lately.

i tell you, i would have loved to have been at the original
Woodstock :) and to have been in haight-ashbury in about 65,
before it was infested...man that woulda been good

You're a wrong asshole as well! Musically they don't belong
to the 60s, but chronologically they began in the 60s
(especially if you count the Yardbirds era).

sorry..I just thought any proper 60's music thread should
come with a syd barrett reference.

offline marlowe from Antarctica on 2002-06-03 23:08 [#00248365]

being the number one authority on syd barrett on this board,
i would have to challenge that post -- ok, pow can refer to
POW R TOC H, but frankly i was disappointed by the rest of
it; i expect an improvement....
