what a fuckin' great cd, just bought it the other day,
can't get enough of xtal

and i finaly figured out that saw stands for selected
ambient works...
yes- i know i'm dumb, but i've also been told i'm cute
and from what i've heard that's a good combination

my first post in this MB was about saw 85-92 (just wanted to
say that)

yes its a masterpiece, a total reference in electronic
music, since it was released.

my favourite is THA with no doubt

i like Xtal the most but THA is awsome. Hell they're all
awsome. Great CD.

as in guest starring the band "no doubt" or just using the
figure of speech (which happens to be very popular in
detroit)???
j/k i'm sure i know what yer talkin' bout nacmat

and the way i've interpretted the cd "artistically" is an
aphex twin cd that seems closer to the level of artistic
expression that i'm at
except i haven't made any deals with the devil, george
busch, or 'n'sync- so i'm sure my shit's no where as good as
his

although for a cd i've never heard before it seems to have a
rather odd effect on my music... several of the tracks use
drum seqs or melodys that sound similar to some of my imxdmx
tracks
yeah...
that's about all i have to say

Tha, Xtal, Pulsewidth, Heliosphan, Schottkey 7th Path,
Hedphelym... what a fucking album.

And I LOVE Ptolemy. It sounds so 80's and cheap, but it's
wicked. Wicked!

my mom calls some of AFX's music 80s. Like i was listening
to Cornish Acid and she walked up and said "What's this it
sounds like 80s music". But i think you can't call AFX's
music 80s anymore considering all the songs are either at
200 bpm with an infinate amount of snare rushes and samples
or straight up piano tracks.

they have nothing to do...totally different styles of music,
structure of the releases... they are both genious, but not
to be compared.

...anything is comparable imo-
and i can see a lot of afx tracks that do strike me as very
80's synth-pop- and to be honest i don't really even see it
as a bad thing,
because, if you think about it 80's synth pop is just
another evolutionairy step directed to electronic music, and
rap music, and current pop music- and forward into the
future, where music will be so fucked up that a lot of us
won't understand it any more, or won't have the capacity to
"learn" to like the new music-
which is the reason why i hope to die young.
not too young though.

SAW1 is way different than SAW2,everyone knows that...For me
they both have special meanings,SAW1 is a collection of
RDJ's earliest works on electronic music...SAW2 is a
collection of a trip to Mars and back he did,its such an
excellent ambient cd,sometimes I could listen to both cds to
meditate,do some massages, have sex or just to do some
thinking when stressed.....:)

every time i do i get the "why isn't your music as big as
his?" line, and the next thing you know she's making
speculations as about the size of rdjs manhood- i'm sick of
it, i keep my women listening to badboy bill and dj
scribble
make's 'em think i'm a good artist by comparison

really calming in a not-obvious way unlike say, whale song
or tibetan chanting for example,
neither of which does it 4 me like xtal does :

what are you retarded?
