What is the point of this enigmatic monstrosity?

Anyone that's heard it, what do you think?

Even though I'm not Jewish, I'm offended, and I'm going to
kill you.

Ok, Jews and murder aside, what's with this thing? It's like
90 tracks of little clips of sounds...

Is there something to the mini disc format that makes it
translate poorly into MP3 listening or something?

Oh yeah, almost forgot.

*decapitates ExHore

Yeah, that's what I thought, something like that.

But even when you do... it still sucks ass!

Maybe if you play that disk backwards at 30 rpm....it will
say

EAT YOUR CEREAL! SEAN BOOTH HAS DIED! I WANT YOUR BOX!
ROB KILLED SEAN!

Gescom minidisc is interesting. I've had it for a few months
now.

Hard to listen to it tho -- 88 tracks varying from just a
few seconds to several minutes.

yeah, it meant to played on Random play...makes a lot more
sense that way...

It's kinda like a generative bit of music...different each
time...

I don't know about you, but my mp3 player (winamp) gives the
automatic 2 seconds in between every song. On the MD , when
listened to in random order, it only has silence
occasionally, so the peices go together creating new songs
every time you listen. Thats why I love my Gescom MD =)

if u prefer something random but more listenable, i suggest
pistachio island by ilkae on merck. it's 45 mini tracks that
work much better than the gescom minidisc.

you can get gapless plugins for winamp to get around the 2
second gap thing...

Might need to fiddle around in the Prefs->output thing but
it's def there...

But yeah, as it was designed for MD, it does work best
there...unless you got a gapless plugin then those 2 sec
gaps kinda fuck it up....

most low end md players stick a gap in there too, well mine
does :(

oh...I didn't know that about MDs; thought they were all
gapless...

but yeah...my MP3CDplayer puts gaps in too...:(..

I guess a possible solution is to record a huge MP3 of it
playing thru on a gapless winamp but then it just becomes a
static work and not different each time...

my MiniDisc hasn't been able to record for 4 years now. It
can still play MiniDiscs though. I'm gonna hold onto it in
case I ever get this Gescom MD but my next purchase'll be an
iPod when they come down a bit in price.
