Any suggestions, preferably like a Good Charlotte album or Hybrid's "Remix and Additional Production By. . . " , and also I'd like to hear a song sorta like the incredible "Rabbitweed" by Sasha.

YOU IDIOTS!!! breakbeat is an electronica sub-genre all to its own!!!!
dbn, jungle, drill, are NOT breakbeat!!!
so what is breakbeat?? very heavy on the TRIPPINESS factor.
I SUGGEST YOU LISTEN TO Hybrid's legendary "Wider Angle" 2 cd set, listen to Sasha's dark and mindblowing "Rabbitweed", and then BT and Tsunami One's "Hip Hop Phenomenom" (NOT A hip hop song, I can tell you; it is breakbeat!), an awesome breakbeat track that has some seriously brilliant bass.

I mean.. . the bass on it. . . it's just droning in lowkey. . . BT/Tsunami One must have had a moment of brilliance to come up with something so catchy and yet deep like that!

breakbeat is a genre all on it's own, I was simpliy stating that breaks are most commonly put in with drums.
And hey way to be deathsmith, getting a tad agitated.
Btw, Death this is an afx site. I don't think this style of music is for you. I mean as stated in a different post you didn't know what 'Confield' was let alone AE.

Lol, yeah I know, because I haven't yet really got into much AE , but I will, don't worry.
and Anyway this is a message board for APHEX TWIN FANS not just Aphex Twin related messages. Besides look at the other posts most of them aren't about about Aphex Twin, now are they?

I wasn't getting at this was strictly afx messages. My point is as clear and concise as I can be for you is that: IDM doesn't seem to be for you. From what I've seen you've been posting nothing but Progressive house/trance, big beat, and breakbeat artists.
Maybe Global Underground would be a better site for you.

No. . . . Aphex Twin is above all my favourite musical artist, and I enjoy using this board moreso than ones on other sites. Besides I just started listening to AFX several months ago so I'm just getting into other sorts of IDM. Also, I'll have you know, I enjoy good intelligent dance music just as much as any other kind of electronica. . .

I'm open on ALL angles; I listen to EVERY kind of electronica, I enjoy it ALL, because there are different good things about every different genre. Some genres (progressive house, drum and bass) it was a bit harder to get into than traditional easier stuff like normal house and trance, but now I can say I listen to every kind of electronic music and am versatile in my listening capabilities (wtf does that mean??) and what genre a song is does not really matter to me anymre, as long as it is good.
I actually disdain the hardcore Aphex Twin fans who disdain trance, because trance can be great stuff!!! (Some of it is admittedly cheese, though). but also I disdain people who LOVE trance and only listen to trance music. . . because that's just LAME!!!!

Yea... It's only the "pop" versions of music the punters hear that aren't true.
R&B is the exception but stuff like Shy FX: Not the D&B we all know and love. That whole Trance movement: That wasn't Trance!!! It could be, it was pop.
Now it's happened to heavy metal Which I loved once. I don't like A anymore. Silverchair have released some new and REALLY shit stuff so.....
Fuck all the Genre shit and fuck the term IDM. It's all gone too far and no-one knows what's what anymore.

Here's some Death: try Beber & Tamara (new album just out), Meat Katie, Layo & Bushwacka, Blim, Adam Freeland mix albums, anything on Botchit & Scarper (they have some cheap samplers out), Freq Nasty, there's a series of compilations on Distinctive Breaks called Y2K, Y3k etc.

for christs sake, big beat, trip hop, hip hop, drum n bass, drill n bass are are sub-genres of breakbeat. commercial breakbeat is just funky house with breaks.

It's not like I came up with this "breakbeat" definition myself. Hybrid is the definitive breakbeat group; give them a listen and you'll understand what TRUE breakbeat is really all about.

Yea... I know what you mean... I just tend to say stuff like... "music like aphex twin" or something. It makes it easier than "music like Hyper Noisecore-Drum 'N' Jazz-synthharp"
LOL! That sounds cool... I want some music that sounds like Hyper Noisecore-Drum 'N' Jazz-synthharp. Anyone got any?
