this Talvin Singh album, Geogaddi is amazing, Drukqs is
good... there are lots... the best for me would have to be
Geogaddi... I haven't heard Confield yet, so I don't know...

I don't really have that much music from 2001 or 2002... I'm
still buying a lot of older releases by Aphex Twin,
Autechre, etc...

D-MOTHERFUCKING-12????wtf!!!???

Anyway how come nobody mentioned the other two most
important two-disc releases of the year????

THE ALTOGETHER - ORBITAL
RARE AND REMIXED - BT

!!!!!! Nobody mentioned these treasures, and they are JUST
as essential as the two disc Druqks is, I'd say. . .

btw who does this Cornfield cd??? Is it a dj mix or what,
from the Rephlex or Warp Label??? The only artists I am
familiar with from that label is Aphex Twin, so a little
more information would be nice, since I'd like to check this
supposedly awesome cd out.

Orbital would of gotten my vote, for the sole fact that all
those b-sides on Disc 2 are amazing, BUT Disc 1 wasn't my
forte.

Other than that Orbital is the best.

Oh yes of course Come With Us was great!!!! And also

John Digweed in Los Angeles, Global Underground 019 has
gotta be the BEST dj mix EVVVVEEERRRr!!!! at least the best
progressive HOUSE mix ever!!!

Quivver's mix debut Transport 5, was also another killer
progressive house dj mix.

and the Deep Dish in Moscow (Global Underground 21) is
another excellent deep house mix.

oh man orbital 'altogether' was AWFUL, and this is coming
from someone who loves orbital. they fell da fuck off, on
the real. but the b-sides disc is nice. they're following
the release of their first and hopefully only wack album
with a greatest hits package this summer. i think that
signifies they're at the end of their rope.

Hmmm it's simply a matter of perspective, Titsworth. With
the Altogether they were trying something new: coming up
with commercially palpable material. I think they did a
pretty good job.

isn't that what their first album was about? mainstream
techno music? and that album is amazing to this day. i think
their pop experiment turned out sour. the david gray track
is terrible and most of the instrumentals are utterly
forgettable and uninspired. the only song i like is tootled
cos i am a fan of the band they sampled for that, tool. and
i mostly appreciate the song for novelty sake.

I'd have to say my favorite was Drukqs, but Geogaddi is a
very close second. Followed by Go Plastic.

I couldn't really get into Vespertine, but I'll think I'll
give it another listen soon.

And Confield, I haven't really listened to yet. [ducks
behind chair]

Illuminate with David Gray is one of the saddest songs I've
ever heard, and by far the best vocal song they've ever
done!!!!
